moms of other August babies--how are you handling sibling birthdays this year?

DS will turn 5 on 8/3, DD1 will turn 2 on 8/17, and DD2 is due 8/22. Great timing, right? Anyway, thoughts on handling birthdays? Should I just have a joint early birthday for both of them?

It would definitely be easier to have it the first weekend in August which is a little early for both since I go back to work on August 3rd (I'm a teacher and plan to return for the first 3 weeks, I managed to return for 2 weeks with my daughter due on the 17th so I'm hopeful I'll make it 3 weeks this time). Anyway, I was wondering what others who have other children's birthdays around their due date are doing?

We have DD#1 July 20, and DS#2 Sept. 9. This year, we opted to throw them a joint bday the last weekend of July to avoid me being too miserable or trying to have a party a few weeks after delivery. They are excited because we are renting out the local pool for a private party. It's surprisingly only $250!!

DS is a July baby. We usually do a cookout, but this year I may rent a place too so I don't have to do as much.

My oldest turns 12 on 8/11 and will probably be scheduled for a csection the following week, I'm just gonna wwait and plan something last minute depending on how I feel... Would love to do a laser tag bday party for him but if I'm feeling too tired probably just pizza and a cake with the family.

DS turns 2 on 8/23 and I'm due with #2 on 8/26. I think we're going to plan to have a small family party at home the first weekend of August, that way my mom and mother-in-law will hopefully help a lot with food and clean up.

That's the plan anyway as long as baby cooperates with it and doesn't come early!

DD#2 turns 4 on 8/10, DD#3 is due 8/3. We have already scheduled and paid for DD2's bday party at Pump it Up (indoor bouncy house place) for July 25th. I'm thinking it will be nice not to have to worry about set up or clean up when I'm that far along!

DS turns 2 8/16 and I have no idea. I'm due 8/21 with DD. i know we're not planning a party as I know I will be at the "miserable" stage. We may do a cake and ice/cream celebration this year which is totally fine for us. We're just hoping DD stays in until after DS birthday

DS turns two on the 12th. DD is due on the 25th. I have thought about this a lot and can't decide. I'll probably wait till it gets closer. Since I foresee many joint parties in the future Id like to do something fun. At the same time I don't want to worry about it at 38/39 weeks pregnant lol.

Yup! This exactly! DD turns 2 on August 16th, my due date is August 3rd... So it'll be a small family affair. Anyway, I don't think she'll notice, she's only 2!

My DS #1 birthday is July 8 and DD birthday is August 29 DS #2 is due August 25 so I'm thinking we will do a joint party in late July early August at chuck e cheese or something so we don't have as much clean up or anything and they can celebrate before the baby comes.

DS turns 3 on 8/3 and I'm due 7/30. I PLAN on having a birthday party for him on his birthday and just hoping I don't go into labor until after 8/3!

I was there on/off, August 2010 board as well until we moved to a FB group in late 2011 or so. I'm sporadically active, though, my DH was offshore a lot, I teach high school full-time and teach 2-3 online college classes each semester so not a lot of free time. DH was promoted in December, though, and is onshore now so I'm hoping to stay more active

I was in A13 but only posted a bit. My ds turns 2 on 9/3 and I'm due 8/9 with this one. We are just going to have a small get together at the house.

DD#1 turns 11 on 7/25 and DD#3 is due 8/2. We plan on a small party a couple weeks before her birthday. She is worried about our LO coming early and being born on her birthday. I can't say I blame her for wanting her special day all to herself. Hopefully LO will stay put. Makes me think of Modern Family episode where Gloria hides her labor because of Manny's birthday. Yep, that'll be me

My stepson is turning 13 8/4 and I am due 8/5. We are going to do something for him the second weekend in August when he comes to visit since we don't have him the whole month of July this year. It's not going to be anything big this year since baby should have arrived by then. My hubby will make t something special for my stepson though.

My brother and I share a birthday and we are 8 years apart. I can tell you it is miserable. I'm also worried this year as I am due the day after my step sons birthday and we don't want them to share a birthday either. I've talked to doc and he thinks I will go early on my own since my other babies are around 37 weeks on their own. I told him my luck would be this one will hold out so he said we would look at it the 39th week if I get that far to ensure it is not the same day if needed.

DD 1 was due 8/1 and born 7/25 DD 2 was due 10/1 and born 8/26 so the odds are not in our favor but I'll keep hoping
