I thought I was leaking fluid this morning so I went in to be checked. I am 38-6 today and have been having cramping and tightening. She checked the fluid and it was negative. But now I'm having contractions about 7 minutes apart and 30-45 seconds long. I've also noticed a pink "stringy" like discharge in the toilet. Could this be just from the exam? I was induced with both of my previous pregnancies and I'm not sure what's going on. Any thoughts?
Re: Tmi question about after an internal exam
I think you did read it here, bc I remember a similar post. A woman was talking about a particularly nongentle check that left her bleeding. I'm a FTM so I can't tell you much but good luck, maybe wait for the 5-1-1 before going to hospital; but like PP said, call doc if bleeding persists.

Had a lot of the same issues--contractions, still having cramps, "fluid" leaking (was negative as well) etc.
Keep an eye on the bleeding. If it doesn't lighten up, then give your doctor/midwife a call for sure. And also for regular contractions. Having a timing app on your phone would be good, I've found mine incredibly helpful.
The nurse who did my exam said spotting was normal, but I bled lots more than spotting. The exam bed had blood and it was as heavy as a period and they didn't look into it.
I asked my OB at last week's apt and she said that when you aren't dilated that much you can have more irritation and that some people are more sensitive than others.
When is your next appointment?
Keep an eye on the intensity and timing of the contractions. Maybe this is it!!
