In hospital for low fluid and IUGR

At an appointment last week with my high risk dr, I was admitted to the hospital for low amniotic fluid. My fluid had been low since the end the the second trimester and baby is measuring small, IUGR, because of this. I was told this would probably happen at some point when fluid levels dropped, but I guess wasn't completely prepared. We're not sure if the fluid will go up with the IV or she will be delivered soon because it is too low. I'm scared since she is still so little, but glad we were able to get the steroid shots here. Anyone else having IUGR?

Obviously I am unable to tell you what to do, but my OB and specialist have me increasing my protein intake significantly and I am on a modified bed rest where for every hour I am active I'm required to spend the equal amount of time in bed doing nothing. Also, drinking plenty of fluids in order to lessen the risk of dehydration-inflicted early labor.

@frankengibbs they have told me I will be checked every two days for fluid level and monitor the baby twice a day. She is about three weeks behind and has been growing but not very fast, which is caused by the low fluid. My Dr said we will just take it one day at a time. If she is under stress or the fluid drops even further, she could be delivered any day. But they will keep her in there as long as possible. I am hoping to get good news next week when they check her growth. I guess it is just a waiting and hoping game at this point.
@knwilliams01 I can't imagine being in here as long as you have! It is so hard being glued to a bed and an IV. You are a trooper! I am glad to hear your little one is still doing good and you've been able to go this long! I supposed I just need to get more positive and know this is what is best for our sweet little girl!
They have told us everything looks good she is just small, so as long as she is okay being small, I am happy!
I know it will all work out, just gotta keep thinking that way!
My doctor told me "A small, healthy baby isn't a bad thing" and I hope that makes you feel as positive as I do that things can look up. >:D< keep us updated! Hopefully you can keep that baby cooking for longer.

Since dd was still little, they held off for a few days and gave me the steroid shots. It went up to 8 something so they waited a few more days. I was sent home after 8 days with a 10 something and put on light bed rest. I was 33 weeks at the time. I had an US every 3 days to check and they did a scheduled cs at 37 weeks. She was 5 lb 8 oz and went home at 4 lb 14 oz but was perfectly healthy and gained wait really quickly.
I have regular USs this time and so far so good. They don't know what caused it last time so it is kind of scary, especially since I had no symptoms. Since my last visit, I started swelling pretty bad. That happened around the same time last time. I'm hoping Monday's appt goes well.
