Breast Infection - take it seriously

B"H Hi all February Moms! No one told me to go to Dr right away if your breast is red or sore. Go right away and get on antibiotics. Mine was not treated successfully, progressed into a breast abcess, and I was hospitalized for 5 days where they did an incision to drain the abcess and then I was put on IV antibiotics. My baby was only 7 weeks old and had been exclusively breast fed, we had to switch to formula while was in the hospital and since leaving I've been pumping the non affected breast and hope to feed her on that side when done with the antibiotics and continue with formula too. I'm still on IV antibiotics at home now and have an open wound and lots of follow up appointments - in short don't mess around with alternative or homeopathic methids or wait at all if you see a red or sore breast. Definitely worth treating early on! Good luck stay healthy :)
