Hello everyone! My name is Amanda, I am 31, and from Texas. I have a little one that is 21 months. I had low progesterone and began spotting and cramping and was given oral (pill form) of Progesterone until about 16 weeks. He delivered at 34w and weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces (I had diet controlled gestational diabetes). We stayed 6 days in the NICU, no major isseues. My preterm labor had no reason, my doctor just called it PPROM. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. My doctor has ordered me to take Progesterone shots and I am currently waiting their arrival from Nebraska. I will be taking them regardless, as the benefits out way the risk. My question is did anyone else start taking them this early? Everyone that I have seen in here didn't start til like 16 (ish) weeks. Any bad side effects?
♡♡♡ TIA ♡♡♡

I start shots this week at 16 weeks. I'm going with the "ignorance is bliss" outlook.

  • I just started them yesterday. The needle was a 22g needle and wasn't bad. I barely felt it, actually. My hip hurts today though, very sore. Is everyone else's in an oil solution and really thick? :-?
  • I took them starting at 17 weeks and currently have 1 more to take at 37 weeks YAY so sick of feeling like a pin cushion but you do what you have to do don't we! Just make sure they are using a long needle. We went to a 21 gauge needle it's bigger do it's easier to inject the NSD and doesn't take so long. I'm a petite framed person and we still used a inch and a half needle with the z track method and I haven't had any pain or swelling or knots I only feel the initial poke from the needle and that's it. I wish you the best of luck. I had preterm labor with my first at 33 weeks and she was taken by 36 weeks. Today I turned 37 weeks so yay. I did go into labor again at 33 weeks but my cervix never changed as a matter a fact doc says it's still hard as a rock and jokes about the makena injection being liquid cement for a cervix! I don't mind it not being soft bc I have to have a repeat c section anyways and this baby is breech too! I hope your pregnancy is smooth sailing for you!
