We are struggling with getting LO to eat meats/proteins. She'll eat black beans and hummus mashed together on tortillas, no nitrate hot dogs and no nitrate lunchmeat... but spits out and type of ground chicken, turkey, meatballs. We do yogurt too. She doesn't care for eggs. I've even tried tricking her by adding a puree with the ground chicken... no luck..Concerned shes not getting enough protein
Oh my goodness!! I am so glad someone else is having this issue.
My daughter loves hummus and peanut butter and occasionally eggs, but that is it in regards to protein.
I have made meatball after meatball only to have them go untouched. She will not even try them.
My husband and I were just talking this weekend about scheduling an appointment to talk to the pediatrician. We are so worried that she is going to become diabetic with all of the carbs that she loves to eat.
Milk has tons of protein. My daughter nibbles on meat ( except meatballs which she inhales). So as long as she's getting 16oz of milk daily plus what you mentioned, she's probably fine.
Our daughter loves fishsticks even though she is not a fan of other meat, if you haven't already Id give that a try. Otherwise our go-to protein includes avocado, peanut butter sandwich (cut up into bite size pieces) and beans. Sometimes I mix in ground turkey with a red sauce in pasta and she gets a tiny bit of protein that way when she eats pasta.
I feel like I have to be stealthy in this protein standoff with my daughter. I found a flourless and eggless black bean brownie recipe and she loved it.

@Kriztyn Admittedly, it does have a slight coffee taste. And several recipes I found actually called for using coffee, maybe to enhance that flavor? IDK, but both the LO and I enjoyed them. Here's the link.
