Ultrasound pain. .? (cross posted )

I had my 20 week anatomy scan ultrasound yesterday. Everything went well except the baby is breech so they had a hard time seeing heart. Therefore, the technician and then the doctor we're both pressing very hard on my belly to try to see what they needed it was very uncomfortable at the time but today I am so very sore after having that done. Has anybody else had soreness and pain after an ultrasound?

    Yes it feels like you got run over or something. Last time it only lasted a day.

    Yeeeeeees. Every time I have an ultrasound my stomach is a mess for the rest of the day. It's so nice to see baby, but MAN they make me so sick and sore, like prodding a bruise. Baby is about as stubborn as they come, too, so they have to jiggle and push like crazy.

    This is my third pregnancy, and with my first two, I only remember some mild discomfort with any of the ultrasounds. However, I've already had twothis time, and will get my anatomy again a week from today, and the first two were more painful than anything I experienced in my prior pregnancies.I think that is because my first two pregnancies always had really basic ultrasounds, but with this pregnancy, they found a bleed in the first scan, and an ovarian cyst in the second scan. With both of those, I did not know why at the time, because they don't ever tell you if they see something unusual, and leave that to the doctor, but the technician was working hard to try to get hard to visualize areas with that wand. So there was a lot more jabbing and jamming than I had ever experienced, and it was really painful. The pain went away within a day, and I am hoping my upcoming scan will be pretty basic and will not require such jabbing. Then again, my health care provider did not change, but her affiliation did, and they are now using a different scan service than before, so maybe this facility just has less gentle technicians.

    Yep had mine yesterday too (again due to a breech baby) and was sore as heck. I told my husband if she tried to stick that thing in my Belly button she was a dead woman!
