This is my second pregnancy and I'm wondering if my baby will come earlier & if labor will be quicker? My first labor was 4 hours. Anyone can share with me their experiences?
I don't know if the rule is that they come earlier, but I think it's common for second labours to be faster.
Both my girls were born at 40 weeks 5 days. All 3 of my sister's babies were 10 days before due date. I know lots of people whose length of gestations were very varied with each baby.
DD1 was 7 hours of active labour and DD 1 was 3 hrs of active. Both had a gradual build up over a day.
I was in labor 4.5 hours with my first, but I'm pretty sure I was in labor all night with my 2nd. My cervix dilated faster though. My first was born 5 days late, 2nd was born 8 days early.
That was definitely the case for me too. I was induced with my first at 39 weeks and had 17 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing and with my second, I didn't even realize I was in labor, had her at 40 weeks, 30 minutes after I checked into the hospital. I literally almost had her in the car on the way there. No time for an epidural, fluids, BP check, nothing.

You had a 4 hr labor with baby #1? Damn girl, that sounds quick enough! Lucky.
my first was 5 hrs no complications no tearing nothing no BH water broke, then several hours later contractions started. if only #2 was going so smoothly....
My first was 1 week late and over 48hours of labour. #2 was 1 week late and over 48 hours of labour. It's now been ten years and I'm on baby #3 and I'm praying it's nothing like those two
