How often do you use your fetal doppler?

Someone did ask a similar question a while ago but I cannot seem to find that thread as I believe it was in March.

I am 14 weeks and have finally had success with my home doppler. So...how often do you ladies listen to that beautiful heartbeat?

Re: How often do you use your fetal doppler?

  • Less now that I'm feeling some movement. I'd say about 3 times a week for about 30-45 seconds. Just enough to know she's ok in there.

  • Everyday now.. Dr said it was ok. I'm sure once I feel the baby move I won't do it as much
  • Every day..just once and only for a few seconds. I literally find the HB, hear it beat about 9 times and turn it off quickly. I just want to know she's still in there:)! I don't linger for long!
  • What brands of fetal doppler's are you ladies using?
  • I think about ever other day. It can get addicting though ;)

  • I only do it every few days when I think of it :)
  • I haven't had any success finding it yet. Any tips to find the heartbeat?
  • I listen to mine about everyday! Just long enough to find it listen for a min then turn it off :). I love hearing it whenever I want! I have a sonoline b and it works awesome. I even have a retroverted uterus and I found it at 11 weeks
  • I listen to baby everyday, but I have been having some issues during my pregnancy so sometimes it's twice a day just to make sure the little one is going ok. ;)
  • What kind of fooled do you all find is best to use?
  • I think sonoline b is most popular. I'm 14 weeks and have finally found I and have been using it two even three times today. After today I'm going every other I just got sooo excited to finally have reassurance.
  • I use mine about 3-4 times per week, it is super fun to hear the baby and know it's OK in there! I am surprised on how low the baby is though, just barely above my pubic line.. I am 15 weeks.
  • I am using Sonoline B. Easy to use and works great. I would use mine every day, but after speaking to my doc, I don't do it more than once a week. Not too good for the baby too often. Especially not early on because you need to push it quite hard. Have fun listening to baby. Amazing feeling hearing it and so reassuring!
  • Tip on finding it: start at pubic bone, slowly towards belly button. You will hear the uterus, then you know you are in the right place. From there, slowly, move it, slightly angle it and you should find the heartbeat. Don't do it too often and not for long. A minute or two a week. At 10/11 weeks I had to do it with a bit of pressure. Now since 13 weeks I don't have to press hard and find it real quickly! Good luck and enjoy.

Edit sorry responded in the wrong thread. The mobile app is acting funky today.
  • I don't have one (though they sound awesome!), but here's the previous thread-- in case there's something helpful on it for you!
  • I have a sonotrax and I use it every other day for a few seconds
    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • They are approved by the FDA for continuous use, but the American Institue of Ultrasound in Medicine recommends "prudent" use. Whatever prudent means..
  • Well I am almost 16 weeks and hadn't had any luck thought it was too early. But thanks to AiramJ's tips I just found it. Thank you. Pretty amazed it works already
  • I am almost 15.....typo and don't know how to change post?!
  • You tube had great hints for using your sonoline b Doppler helped me out!! I use mine about 1-2 times a week. Probably will untill I feel more movement
  • I listen every night before bed. My husband and I talk about how excited we are for this baby and tell the baby their big brother is excited to meet them too.
  • I don't have one, but I would probably listen daily if I did.
  • I try not to be obsessive with mine - probably about 3 times a week and only for about a minute once I find the heartbeat. I do love having my doppler; it has put our minds at ease so much. I have a Sonoline B and have been using it since I was about 10 weeks.
