I'm 37 weeks an 4 days went to the doctor today an my doctor said that I'm 2cm dilated an 50% thinned out she told me to start working on getting myself thinned out more what can I do or eat to help thin my cervix more?
You're only 37-4, what's the rush? Baby will come when baby wants. I don't get why there's such a rush for so many women to have their LOs! Trying to thin your cervix and induce yourself won't make labor happen any sooner.
Thanks for the advise ladies an I'm not in no rush for her to come I was just asking how to thin my cervix out more bc my doctor wants me to they wanted to induce me next week but I told them no I wanted her to come when she was ready but again thank you for your advice oh an what's EPO?
What does it even matter if someone is in a rush to have their baby, pretty sure that's their choice is it not? I know myself, being 110lbs before I got pregnant, it's really hard being this big and it hurts my body, my feet, legs. It's getting really hard on me & if your past 37 weeks (where they are fully developed) why not try all you can to get her out! It's a preference, I'm 39 weeks and 1 day today - and I would've been ready for her to come 1 week ago! I don't have much info for thinning more, I'm in the same boat!!
My doctor asked me to start taking evening primrose as well. One 1000 mg capsule orally in the morning and one 1000 mg capsule vaginally at night (agree that a panty liner will be needed). Then she asked that I stop taking DHA which was in my prenatal vitamin. So I found one without it. I went from a hard cervix to "a 1" in less than a week. I'm 37 wks 4 days and my doctor wanted me to start thinning my cervix otherwise we'll be discussing having a c section. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Because trying to force your child out before it's ready isn't fair. I'm ready to evict my LO too, but haven't tried anything to make it happen. Because clearly, he is not ready.
Your body will naturally thin the cervix out as it preps for birth. Once you start having early contractions, squatting will help increase the force of the head on the cervix in your pelvis which will help your cervix thin and dilate. This only really helps if you are in early labour though

Being 9 months pregnant is hard on all of our bodies. What you weighed pre-pregnancy has nothing to do with it. That's normal pregnancy pains and part of what you signed up for.
Also, babies are NOT fully developed at 37 weeks. The ACOG does not consider babies full term until 39 weeks, and even then, they should be allowed to come when they're ready, not be induced without medical reason. There is crucial lung and brain development that happens between 37 & 39 weeks. Being induced should not be the norm. It should be used for medical necessity only.
