Anyone have backup team names?

We're team pink, based on 2 ultrasounds but I'm still not 100% confident that it'll be accurate. It just now occurred to me that IF it comes out wrong I won't have a boys name ready so I've just started putting together a list.

Do any of the rest of you have an alternate name in case you end up being one of those stories where the sex determination was wrong?

Re: Anyone have backup team names?

  • Team pink also. U/S tech said she was a girl just because she didn't see a peen. Before we found out though I kept having dreams she was a boy. If she does turn out to be a he we've already decided to name him Ronald Christopher. First name is after DH's late father, MN is after DH himself. Truth be told I had way more boys names picked out than girls names.

  • You're so much more prepared than me! I just had a dream last night that I had a boy and now I'm staring at my closet full of pink clothes and no boy name and kind of panicking!
  • Were team pink as well and everyone thought she was gonna be a boy so we picked a name for a girl and boy so her name is set to be Anya Nicole but if the ultrasound was wrong and she is a boy we chose Mason Lee but hope she is a girl due to the fact she has a lot of girl clothes
  • If by some odd chance, it's a girl instead of a boy (which is much harder to mess up during the ultrasound) or a future daughter, we'd name her Riley Shae
  • I asked the tech to double check. She said that baby was "textbook female", so we are going with girl.
  • We picked out names before we knew the sex. Our daughter will be named Jaylah Ann. If by chance we have a boy his name will be Kayden Jerez. But I think he will look funny in all pink and purple!
  • We're all set for a girl but thankfully have a few clothes that are neutral. We picked out Olivia Josephine but if it's a boy then we only have Gunner and that was mostly suggested for fun.

DH mentioned this possibility just last night and we both laughed about it. Now you got me thinking.

If, on the off chance it's a boy, we're so screwed! Lol
  • I've been thinking about this a lot lately and it's a fear of mine, I honestly don't know what I would do if my baby girl was born a baby boy! I thought she was a boy for sure until I found out she wasn't and I've had 3 ultrasounds done an early one at 16 weeks, another at 20 weeks, and the last one at 29 weeks and each one the tech was sure she was a girl so if she's not someone definitely has some explaining to do! I don't have a boy name picked out, I have my daughters room decorated in pink and purple butterflies and flowers with her name over the crib, and we really have NO neutral clothes! So yeah like @marthaudani said if by chance we have a boy we are completely SCREWED lol
  • It's pretty unlikely multiple u/s are wrong I would think....

  • I had a gender scan at 18 weeks, and then my 20 week US and they both said girl. I also had a scan to check baby's size at 33 weeks and they re-confirmed girl, so I think I'm good. At least I hope so or he will wear a lot of pink and purple.
  • Team blue, but we had discussed names before we found out the sex. We're naming him William Christopher. First name is my dad's and also my DH/FIL middle name, and his middle name is after my older brother who passed in 2011. We discussed a few female names, though - one my DH suggested, Geneva, is his late grandmothers name. Then he's been discussing Charlize or Charlotte with the nn of Charlie (his name is Charles). We've got a lot of possibilities just in case, but I'm not sweating it.

Besides, right now DS has a high chair that is decorated in pink. It was passed down to him from DD, though I'm looking to find a replacement cover for it. :)

  • I've have 4 scans confirm a girl so there shouldn't be any surprises but I have the name Calvin picked as just in case
  • I have worried about this so much. We are team pink, and even though I don't care if we have a boy or a girl, we have so much pink stuff! I would have to borrow some baby boy clothes! Her name will be Reese Michelle, but the off chance she comes out a boy, the boy name we picked is Rhett Joshua.
