Baby Cache Windsor Lifetime Crib

Good evening all,

I am wondering if anyone has purchased (and used) the Baby Cache Windsor Lifetime Crib? My husband and I found it at Babies R Us and we're thinking about buying it online. Our only issue with it at this point is that there is a wide, solid panel on the back and we've already purchased a bedding set which includes bumper pads. Apparently, the bumper pads are a bit difficult to secure with the wide panel.

If anyone has purchased this particular crib and has attached (or attempted to attach) bumper pads then I would appreciate any feedback you might have!

    You might want to consider not using bumpers. They're not recommended because they increase the risk of suffocation and strangulation. There are other safer options if you need to pad the bars or keep baby from getting arms/legs stuck.

    I would do some current research on the Baby Cache manufacturer before buying this crib.  We had picked out a Baby Cache last December and then read all these Bump posts at that time about women who were still waiting for their crib (far after the baby was born) or requested a refund due to the extreme delay.  Apparently the company shut down its operations and is not currently building the cribs as they are trying to move overseas, but that was back in December when we were first researching cribs so I would double check if it's still the case. 

    We ended up going with Benbrooke by Bassett furniture (similar style) sold at Buy Buy Baby and it was just delivered yesterday.  We love it!  And they let us use the 20% coupon, so we also bought the dresser. 

    I think from what I have read, you should not use bumpers in the first 6 months as that is where the risk is most extreme.  Many companies now make a mesh liner that is safer, but should still be used with caution.  We are planning on doing the mesh liner but not until the baby is older.

    Skip the bumpers and the coordinating quilt that comes with the bedding sets because they are not safe for infants. I don't understand why they still sell them.

    @HWKI I don't get it either.  I know they're cute and all, but it's SO not worth the $$, especially when they are deemed as unsafe by the AAP!  Babies are surrounded by cute things, parents should forego this one.
