My bf was working for an agricultural company that is based out of Canada and is successful there. They decided to expand to the US and that's how he got on. Well he started to realize the company did not think this out well and basically tried to expand to the US with no game plan and the opportunity presented to him wasn't what it seemed. So for the past few weeks he's been looking for other jobs. He met with his career recruiter and told him the situation and right after the meeting got a phone call the US company has been dissolved and they are only being paid thru until today. Wtf? These are salaried employees with degrees. Is it even legal for them to fire them with this short of notice and no severance? The US branch started in December. I'm 38 + 1 and now we're going to be jobless with a newborn. I'm trying so hard not to stress especially since I have a heart arrhythmia and anxiety. But how do u not freak out when ur SO comes home and says "I lost my job."
Re: SO lost job today trying not to stress :(
It may become a blessing and a better door open up.
