Cat-calling in 3rd tri...

Hello fellow mamas

So here's my question.. at this stage of your pregnancy (anywhere in your 3rd tri) would you consider cat-calling from men kind of creepy or do you take it as a compliment of being a hot pregnant mama?..

I am wondering since personally I find it to be a bit of 'creeper status' I mean you (as the creeper) can see I have a baby in my belly and I am obviously not going to even acknowledge you... yet there are those who don't mind it since its almost like a compliment of how beautiful you are even with a big baby bump (which I feel every mama is beautiful so hearing it from a stranger should not be taken as a validation)...idk what do you all think?

I would ignore it whether pregnant or not. It annoys me men think they can be so rude and subjectify a woman like that.

Yes, this. Cat-calling is rude IMO, whether it's in 3rd tri or any other time.

No, I would not find it offensive.  Because if you think me waddling down the street at 39 weeks like a zombie (thanks to no sleep) in my leggings with dried food on my bump (why does my bump seem like a magnet for grossness right now?) and my hair a hot mess attractive, more power to you.  I'm not even sure if my husbandman finds me attractive right now and he HAS to love me ;)

I agree. It's in poor taste at any time.

I remember that this was a huge post on a birth month board a while back. I don't know if I'll get in trouble if I link it-- but it was a huge row.

If a guy called out, "Hey, girl you look really put together today we should get a latte and talk about stuff we heard on NPR recently," I might take it as a complement. Do you think that's what most cat-callers mean?

haha! This would be a classy cat-call one that is worthy of a response..
As far as a whistle here and there I don't mind it so much when not pregnant..there's just something about another man trying to 'holla-at-ya' while u clearly have another mans baby inside of u that I find the worst..but in all I just see it as men being the horn-dog animals that they can be if they are not taught otherwise..

Yes, apparently linking to other posts within the forum is a violation now and can lead to a banning. Or maybe that is just when you link to posts started by the admins themselves on the BumpHQ board? :-?

I think it's creepy unless it's just simply a compliment and not like the guy is hitting on you.. I was out with my friend recently and a guy came up to me and told me how beautiful I am. I assumed he didn't see my bump, but he again tried to talk to me and said "you're the most beautiful woman here how far along are you?" I found it creepy.

Anthropologicaly speaking, men are attracted to fertility. Whether they act like an ass about it is another story.

It's rude and I will not stand for that no matter what the situation. Street harassment is no joke.

Pregnancy fetish is a real thing. I find it completely disgusting and I run for the hills at the first sign that some creeper is into it.

Men have learned not to do that to me, because I make sure to embarrass them in front of their friends so that they perhaps think twice about doing that to other women. We as women have enough insecurities without being made out to feel like a piece of meat by a sweaty construction worker or run of the mill drunk on a street corner. Men with any sense of class would never treat a woman like that, and women that are turned on by this kind of thing have a lot more problems going on than I am willing to think about. I can understand feeling unattractive at this particular point in your life, but we are carrying life, in the last few months before birth and the next couple months after we are fighting a war to feel attractive. Hopfully our men who are home with us would understand that, as they obviously knew how to treat a woman in the first place. Otherwise we wouldn't be pregnant right? lol

I work in customer service and this is something that ALWAYS baffles me. Older men seem to always flirt or hit on me and it's quite disgusting! Not sure what to make of it

Love this! I was walking into my salon today and a guy started honking his horn at me (I did not know him!) from behind. I just turned around and let him stare at my pregnant belly hoping it would make him feel embarrassed or even repulsed. Like... do not look at my body for your own arousal you disgusting pig! I never liked it pre-preggo and I certainly do not like it now.

You know, not every fetish is a creeper's paradise? It's not my cup of tea, but there is no need to look down on those that find pregnancy appealing. Consenting adults & all.

It's rude. period. pregnant or not.  I don't respond to that crap either way. Maybe 15 years ago.. I worked in a small office of all women.  One of my co-workers'/friends was oh.. probably 36 weeks pregnant at the time.  We had mostly male customers because it was the construction business. Anyway.. this guy comes in to pick up a check.. and he literally says .. like out loud to my very pregnant coworker..  'damn girl.. pregnant or not .. you fine!'.   I mean seriously what do you even say to that? lol  She was so stunned she didn't say anything and then he just left.  That same year.. I was in the gas station next door to our office and this older guy literally growled at me.. like in an attempt to do like a sexy growl.  I just looked at him and said I'm sorry but does that actually work for you?  And he was just stunned and stared back at me and I laughed and walked away.

Seriously you can't think of a better way to get a female's attention than to cat-call or growl or make some idiotic comment?  lol It's all just really childish and stupid
