Sex while dilated

So a couple days ago I went to l&d for some false back labor, however I was 1 cm dilated 0% effaced. My sec drive has finally come back. ..and although now may be a little late to ask... is it OK to have sex once dilation has begun? I didn't dilate with my daughter until like 39 weeks, so It wasn't ever a question... help!!! TIA :)

    Sex is recommended to help try to naturally get labor started... if it were something you needed to avoid your doctor would have instructed you to not have sex. I haven't had any cervical checks so dilation is unknown and my midwife still recommends sex if we want to try to help speed up the process.

    I'm dilated 1cm and being induced at 37 weeks. I'm 36 tomorrow. My doctor said to have as much sex as possible to help dilate because it will speed up my induction. So I would say yes it is safe

    Sex is perfectly ok up until your water breaks, then it's more of a danger for infection.

    Yep I'm 3cm (have been for weeks) sex is totally fine

    I have dilated 1 cm and was told that sex is fine. My husband asked!!! Lol

    I've been 2cm for 2 weeks now and I asked my dr the same question. She said she recommends it as much as possible!

    I am also strep B pos. I am dialated at 1cm, 60% effaced but no contractions (that stay) and water hasn't broke. I have however been losing my plug a little at a time over the last 3 days. I have tried to help get labor going (well...more like stay considering I have contractions but they don't closer than 20 min although are consistent) and was going to try sex but am scared to death now.

    I'm GBS + and was told having sex was encouraged. I just have to be cautious and choose positions wisely since baby daddy hits my cervix if we aren't careful.
