Low baby kicks

I am currently 19wks. I have an anterior placenta. I am pretty sure I have been feeling little kicks, but only on one side. For the past few days I have felt movement very low down above my pubic bone. It feels like I'm being punched in the bladder. It's not painful, but is a little uncomfortable. Wondering if this is normal??

Re: Low baby kicks

  • yes it is normal- when I first started feeling kicks they were all mainly on the right side and super low, now at almost 23 weeks they are all over the place

  • I am 20w and I feel baby really low too. Sometimes the kicks are closer to my belly button. It is very strange to me because when I was pregnant last time,DDs kicks were always higher. Just depends on where the baby is. I agree that as baby grows, the kicks will be felt in more places.

  • 22 weeks and all my kicks I have felt are wayyy below my belly button, almost at the same level as my hip bone!  He is sitting low, but my doctor didn't seem concerned with it at all.  Its just where he's comfy at the time being.
Always hold on to hope ❤
  • im thin and short but im a ftm and ive felt movement above belly button and below it too. the baby loves to kick the corners of my belly near my hips then I got a few that were near my ribs. is it possible to be kicked near ribs at 22 weeks???

I am 21 weeks with an anterior placenta and have the same thing ! Really feels like little jabs right on my bladder.
  • I am 23 weeks and am surprised when I feel it higher up. Majority of the time it is fairly low

I'm 23 weeks and when I first started feeling kicks they were low, then hard on my left side: then belly button, then low.... Basically she is all over the place. And yes, she kicks me in the bladder a lot.

  • I feel majority of my kicks very low on the right side.
  • I feel the baby low and left of the belly button. The babies head is down to the right near pubic hairs lol and feet are right on the left side of the belly button.
  • I'm feeling movement very low too, 21 weeks yesterday. Thought it was strange as baby should be up higher
  • My first kicks were very low as I also have an anterior placenta.. 5 days later and I just felt my first few kicks below my belly button. My OB has said I may not feel as much movement as baby girl is kicking the placenta and not 'me'.. I'm guessing she's just kicking harder and therefor I'm feeling them higher now too. I'm 20w tomorrow and wasn't expecting to have felt anything yet so I'm just excited she's in there trying to say hello to us!

Just out of curiosity, but are your babies breech? Our girl is so I guess it makes sense were feeling her kicks low as her feet are down there
  • I don't think so because breech is where the babies bottom or feet are coming out first or getting ready for its birth. My baby head is on the right side of uterus or down low and the feet is on the left side near belly button.
  • Mine is breach and I feel like it is kicking my pubic bone. It is the strangest feeling.
  • I feel little popping low on my left side for about a couple weeks now but only there. I don't know if it's baby or something else
  • I'm 21 weeks and I'm the exact same way! The doctor also told me that she is breech!
  • I think it's the position of the baby. I usually feel kicks pretty low. At my last ultrasound my technician told me the baby's feet were near my bladder and her head was near my belly button. It was not until recently have I felt a kick near my belly button. It feels different. Hopefully I can see them soon as well.

  • I am 19 weeks as well and started feeling the baby move around 15 weeks. It was always on the left side very low like you indicated. My placenta sits in front of the baby also so for a while until recently I only felt it on the bottom left. Now occasionally u get it a little further up or in the other side lower as he is mainly always sitting on my bladder or in my pelvis area. I know he is down there when I start cramping out of the blue. The subsides after some prodding to get him to move. ;)
  • I looked for this thread because my baby girl kicks mostly downward also. It's still such a special feeling. Even more exciting though when I get kicks higher, yes! One night (around 19 wks) she had a spree of kicking straight up into my ribs!
She was breach when I had my 20 wk ultrasound, and it feels like she prefers breach at this point.
It does seem kinda silly to me that I keep getting bigger and rounder, but she prefers to be economical with her space! Maybe she just likes to cuddle against me. :)
  • I also have an anterior placenta and am 22wks baby girl always kicks right below my belly button. She likes to lay with her head on my bladder most days.
  • This is my second, and he has been kicking super low since the very first time I felt him (which was really early-- like 15 or 16 weeks).  I feel like he just implanted in a totally different position compared to my first because I never felt DS this low.  (I don't have an anterior placenta, btw.)

  • The first few weeks, I only felt movement lower down. At my 20 wk ultrasound, the doctor told me he was breech. I'm 23 weeks today and now I can feel him (and see my belly move) all over. It's absolutely my favorite thing about being pregnant!

  • My baby moves low bit its punches not kicks he kicks right of my belly button mostly. In the ultrasound his head was way pushed against my cervix so I know when I feel movement down there he's punching.
