How long did you guys wait? (TMI)

so I know this is a bit TMI but I want to hear some experiences. It's been 4 weeks since I gave Birth and I got about 10 stitches. I want to know how I can tell if I'm fully healed and how long you guys waited to actually have sex. I am no longer in pain I just feel a little sore sometimes, but The thought of sex makes me so nervous and scared

I tore with my first and waited 3.5 months. I didn't tear with my second and we waited 3 weeks. It was a little tender but not bad. It's much better now (6 weeks pp). Just listen to your body. If it hurts, stop or try something new.

I waited until my 6 week check up when my doctor gave me the ok. I was very crampy after.

I'm in the same boat... Just got my 6 week green light but now I'm scared! I tore and had an episiotomy, but she said I'm healed. Still doesn't seem like I an area I wanna mess with too much. Plus the CNM said libido is down, orgasms are hard, and things will feel different. Totally makes me wanna do it now #-o

I waited 2.5 weeks after but I had a c section I' didn't bleed that much after birth I was lucky.. I couldn't wait 6 weeks that's to long for me when I was pregnant sex sucked ! I am 4 weeks PP

I had a first degree tear and stitches but I recovered way faster from this birth than my first which was also a 1st degree and stitches. My bleeding stopped a a few days after I hit 2 weeks pp. We did the deed the day I hit 4 weeks. I was a little scared at first but it wasn't bad at all

We waited about 3 weeks - we were told to just wait until the stitches came out, but (weird I know) I had my husband check first before we tried anything, even though I knew they were out. One thing though - nerves made things very 'dry' and a good lube was a must for us.

I had a C with my first. We waited 5 weeks. I'm 3 weeks pp now (VBAC) and I had 2 tears. Not sure when I'll be ready but I'm hoping also by week 5. I'm anxious to do it again even if I am freaking out at the thought of the pain.

I had a small tear, only got one stitch and had sex 16 days pp. I felt ready, had stopped bleeding and spotting and we just went slow to start. We've had sex numerous times now with no problems and I'm almost 5 weeks pp

With my first, I can't remember, but pretty sure it was longer than the six weeks. With this one, I'm 4 weeks postpartum, and just lost my last stitch a couple days ago. It's still a bit tender down there, so I will probably end up waiting a couple more weeks just to be safe.

I'm 4 1/2 weeks pp. Waiting until the 6 week OB visit to start anything. Still having some light bleeding and a little uncomfortable after some minor vaginal tearing and a couple interior stitches. My husband is more impatient than I am, but I'm in no way ready to do anything right now for the reasons listed. But as long as everything is healed up, there's no bleeding, and you take it slow, it shouldn't be a problem.

I think the main reason you're supposed to wait is so your doctor can check your uterus and make sure it's ok. Your uterus contracts when you have an orgasm.

I couldn't wait for my six week check-up, my husband and i had sex for the first time yesterday (5 wks pp via c-section) I physically felt able to have sex 2 wks pp..It was very tender and dry. Lube is a must for next time. I say make sure you listen to your body and know all the risks that can come with having sex after baby if you decide to go for it before cleared by your doctor.

With my first child I waited 8 weeks (vaginal birth) and we started slow and it was a but uncomfortable but I was okay. I'm 4 weeks pp with my second child (c-section) and I'm not sure when I'll be ready. I'm waiting for my 6 week appointment and will go from there. I'm nervous so we will most likely end up waiting until the 8 week mark.

It's all about what your body says! You will be dry so lube is a must and try to go slow. The first time will be the hardest but afterwards you'll go back to normal!

We waited a little over six weeks with our first and I'm glad we waited. I had only like three stitches and not at all bad tearing. They told me I was good to go , but sex was AWFUL. I cried. Unknown to doctors or me I had some exposed nerve endings or something, went back to the doctor and got numbing cream. Worked like a champ. Had to use it for a couple weeks until the nerves deadened on their own. Sex has never been better since! So, moral of the story... If it hurts go back to the doctor and don't loose hope

With my first i waited probably about 2 months pp. Had to have alot of stitches. With my 2nd and 3rd i waited about 2 to 3 weeks. (Wasnt bleeding ). But now im 4 weeks pp and still havent stopped bleeding, even with me breastfeeding. Has got me woundering if somethings wrong. So sex right now for me.is a no.

My husband and I had sex for the first time a couple of days ago. I waited 6 weeks. You will need lubrication most likely . It was a bit painful, I'll admit. I was in the mood, but once we started, I kind of wasn't. I was nervous, but I'm sure it will get better.

Thanks for the response ladies. I'm no longer bleeding and I feel physically fine but I'm so nervous.. I'm thinking of trying it before my 6 week appointment hoping everything goes well.

Short of putting a mirror down there I don't know that you really know. I could be wrong. But I don't remember knowing or being able to tell a difference

I checked and all my stitches are gone! It just looks like a scar so im hoping im good in that area. I heard about a risk of infection but that that's only until before 4 weeks? Anyone heard of this? Sorry I'm just so nervous and want to be sure

Hmm... I had a 4th degree tear so assume it'll take a bit longer to heal. I'll be asking at my 6 week appt but I'm definitely nervous, although excited, about sex with my DH again.

Any mom's who have had 4th degree tears? How long did you wait?

Any mom's who have had 4th degree tears? How long did you wait?

I had a 4th degree with my first that had healing issues so I waited about 13 weeks. It was probably longer than I needed to but I had so many issues that sex was the last thing on my mind.
