Trying to Get Pregnant

We had sex 8 days ago, is it too soon for pregnancy symptoms?

My husband and I have been married almost 5 years and started trying to conceive a few months ago. We had unprotected sex 8 days ago, during my ovulation. I almost always have nausea the day after, i'm assuming a hormone imbalance, but it has ALWAYS stopped the day after. For the most part, the nausea has been earlier in the day but the past 2 days i've noticed them a couple of times in the afternoon too. I've ran to the bathroom numerous times but haven't vomited.

On top of the nausea, my hubby keeps saying I seem more tense and anxious. AND i've been sleeping like a log and have felt fatigued the past few days.

I could just be getting myself psyched up, but i've never felt like this. I'm not supposed to have a cycle for another week so taking a test would probably be a waste. Has anyone experienced these symptoms this early?

  • Hello and welcome.
Yes, it's too early for symptoms.
And you don't really know when you ovulated, unless you are charting your temps.
If it's too early to take a test, then it's too early for symptoms. Good luck. Lurk around this board if you want to know how your cycles work b
    My TTC History:
    2009: missed miscarriage #1 at 9 weeks (trisomy 16)
    2010: Infertility
2011: Diagnosis and treatment (low sperm count, anastrozole for DH, clomid for me + IUI)
    2012: Baby #1
    2014: Baby #2
October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)
    March 2016 BFP#5, due November 2016.

  • How do you know you actually ovulated? Nausea can happen for any reason, women just tend to notice it more when they are TTC. If it does happen to be because your are KU, you would be able to get a + HPT.
Try reading a copy of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" to educate yourself on how your cycles actually work.

You can't have symptoms if your body hasn't even registered a pregnancy yet.
  • Obviously you are preggo. The pee sticks are total waste of time and money. And you know what, depending on the first symptom you observe we can tell you the GENDER of the baby,

This made me LOL! I just have to say how much I am enjoying the drama of all the drive bys and noobs that have no clue what the etiquette of posting on this board is. READ THE GUIDELINES! Better yet, if you think you might be KU then go POAS... And remember not to post it here for help reading it cause no one wants to see that.
  • Your first symptom will most likely be a BFP unless you wait really late to test, and by really late I mean mulitple weeks after you've done missed your period. Most women, and even though I say most every woman and every pregnancy is different, do not get morning sickness until they are six weeks pregnant. I firmly believe it is movie drama that has convinced women that nausea is the earliest sign of pregnancy.
