Not making it to May

Well it's official. The Drs are getting pretty concerned with my blood pressure and we have scheduled an induction for 5 AM on Monday. I got some blood work drawn today and if it comes back positive for pre-eclampsia we may be going into the hospital TONIGHT. If not then I have this weekend to try and get the baby to come on its own before the induction. Must admit I am a little freaked out but otherwise super excited to finally meet my Baby!!!

Edit: By the way I am 38w1d so we are full term.

People at my doctors office don't seem to agree on this! I can't get a straight answer on what is full-term.

I've heard 37 is pre term and then 39 is term but the nurse at my appointment said term too. Whatever its called just looking for a healthy baby and that its not pre-e!

At the Naval Hospital they consider anything past 36 weeks term... Regardless anyways you shouldn't worry about what other people consider "term" try not to stress, I bet you're so excited to meet your sweet pea!!

I read that it recently changed that 39 to 41 is full but 37 38 sounds great to me and is very common

Hoping for no pre-e and a safe delivery!

For clarification, here is a link to how term is defined by the American Congress of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) and I'm including a screen shot of the most important info:

Not all doctors have updated how they define it, but that doesn't make this information any less valuable or important, just because some doctors are behind on current research and available information. Obviously, when there's a medical concern like pre-e, the benefits outweigh the risks. But for other situations, especially convenience, this information should really be a big part of any decision made by you and/or your doctor.

^^^ The most recent guidelines are that 37-38 weeks are considered 'early term' and 39+ weeks is 'full term'. Regardless, your baby's organs are ready to go, the main difference is in brain development and fat accumulation. Good luck

I was induced a week ago today for preeclampsia. I got the call at 3pm to be at the hospital in the morning at 8am. Cue the dramatic freak out. I was worried about my baby, I didn't feel prepared to leave my toddler. Fast forward a week and I'm currently cuddling my perfect little peanut.

I hope things go well for you!

ETA she was born at 37 weeks.
