I would LOVE to but can't lay on my back for that long. Make sure you call the place and tell them you are pregnant when you book.

  • yes love prenatal massages! they won't let you lie on your back - they either have  a special preg table (where there is actually a hole for your belly) or they prop you up with pillows and you lie on your side - which is like being in bed :)
  • @lola2bee I asked specifically for a prenatal massage, so they know I'm pregnant.
  • I went on a "baby moon" with my husband at 35-36 weeks and we got a couples massage. His was normal and mine was prenatal. No issues at all, and it was a huge treat! Ask your doctor if you're worried, but if you have a low risk pregnancy, you will probably be fine. Enjoy!
  • Loved it!! It's amazing haha
  • I have a friend that specializes in prenatal massage and she is awesome!!!! She even has a table just for the tummy to go into
  • I get one almost every week! I have to. My body mind soul get soooo much out of it. It helps swelling and back pain and hip pain. You don't lay on your back you lay on your side. I can't lay on my back for very long either. They are the best!! (Of course if they are good at massages)
  • My husband and I did a couples massage (upgraded mine to a prenatal) back in December for our anniversary and again just last weekend. It is so nice. And they're good about pinpointing target areas for pregnant women that tend to have more pressure. I highly recommend going for it.

I've gotten them every six weeks throughout the whole pregnancy, and it has been worth EVERY penny!!  Enjoy! :)
  • I had one both of my pregnancies and they're wonderful. Just try to go to a place that has a table with a hole in it for the belly. That would be so much more comfortable. Otherwise you will be laying on your side, which is still great, but it could be better :)

I've been getting a prenatal massage every month after first trimester. I regularly got massages before pregnancy, so all they've done differently is lay me on my side with a body pillow and avoid certain points that are bad to massage on pregnant women. Just be sure your massage therapist is trained for prenatal.
  • I've got plenty of prenatal massages the last few months. I've loved every one of them! Please just make sure they are a qualified prenatal masseuse. They should know to have you lay on your side and not on your back, among other things. I always have a special wedge pillow that leans me up just a little, a pillow to support my belly and hug, and a pillow between my legs/knees. I haven't had a facial, but now I'm thinking I need one!
  • I've only had one with my DS when I was 37 weeks. I wish I had the money to get one now. My body is 6 years older than when I had him and my back, hips and legs are begging me to get one. My DH is good at rubbing my legs and back when I ask him so I'm pretty lucky. A professional prenatal massage would be such a treat!
  • I've had 2 (one at 32 weeks and one at 37 weeks). Make sure they know you are pregnant and if you haven't gone I would suggest doing a shorter one. I normally do hour long massages but in pregnancy I could only handle half hour. My bladder could only handle that long and my boobs started to hurt from being on the table near the end.
  • I agree with previous poster...get a shorter one if you haven't done it before, especially if you're on your side. I absolutely love my massages, but as I've gotten bigger being on my side for that long makes my hips sore. Hope you enjoy!!
  • I've had a few this pregnancy. Loved It!!! You do need to make sure when u book that they know you are pregnant. I was on my sides- stared on one side and switch to other side. I did like 30 mins on each side. Had good support with all the pillows. Would really recommend it. Hope u enjoy.
