Membranes stripped

Went in today , 38 weeks tomorrow . Dr suprises me and strips my membranes! Although 3rd baby, I have idea what to expect . I have had a few cramps but nothing constant. Anyone had this before ?

    I had my membranes stripped last Thursday at 37 weeks 6 day ( same thing I didn't know the doctor was doing it until it was done) one week later and I am holding my precious baby girl. I started cramping and bleeding almost right after it was done and had contractions for 4 days then on Tuesday I went into active labour and had her within hours.

    If it's going to work you are in labor within 24 hrs. With my daughter I had it done twice and neither time worked. With my son the dr stripped my membranes and all day my cervix were uncomfortable and I was have some more intense BH. Nothing too intense. When to bed and at midnight woke up in labor and had him before 8 in the morning. It was about 12 after the membrane sweep that I was in labor. It won't always work but if you are close it can tip you over the edge to go into labor.

    Dr stripped my membranes this morning in a last ditch effort to avoid an induction. I'm 38w1d but my BP is rising so if this doesn't work I'll be induced Monday. It was super uncomfortable and my cervix is a little achy, we'll see how the day goes!
