I have one. No one has said anything special to me. The OB hardly cared (my primary care doc was the one that caught it). After google I just bought myself an iron supplement. Hoping all else is fine.
Yea I think they wouldn't let her drop under 100 so they put her on steriods. Other than that there wasn't any interventions. She ended up having CS for both and bruised pretty badly.

Low platelets and low iron are two different things. In some cases taking iron supplements will lower your platelet count. I would advise against self medicating, even if it doesn't lower your platelet count, it won't raise it.
I have had very low platelets in the past, ITP. They are monitoring a few times every trimester, but it hasn't been significant (touch wood). I'm praying it stays stable and I can avoid steroids.
Mine dropped pretty low & are back up to almost "normal" at 38 weeks. They just take precaution because if they get below 100 the hospital won't get you an epidural ! Ouch!
I have low platelets, under 100, and have had low platelets since 28 weeks. I was sent to a hematologist who basically said the only treatment for low platelets was to go on a light steroid. She said the success rate is 50% with the steroid and there is no guarantee that my platelets will not drop again before labor or during labor. The steroid would also increase the size of my child, or "advance" him. It's what they give to mom's who will be giving birth prematurely. She also said that some anesthesiologist will still give you an epidural as long as you are above 80. I chose not to take the steroid and hope for the best. Good luck!
