Trying not to panic...*Update

**Update**
I just got back from the Dr. I heard my little beans hb and Dr. said it sounds great! She thinks that there may have been a clot that was missed when they did the ultrasound but other than that being the cause of spotting, she isn't really sure. She said to try and not stress myself out (haha...easier said than done!) and to just continue getting rest. For now, I'm feeling relieved since I heard the hb and other than the spotting everything seems to be normal. This could be a long 9 months...lol! :)

So I will be 10 weeks tomorrow. Beginning 8w4d brown spotting started. I went to the dr and had an emergency ultrasound...everything looked fine and baby's hb was 180. They gave me a shot of Rhogam (since I'm RH negative) and said that they wanted to monitor me closely until the spotting stops and to rest in the meantime. Last Friday, since I still had the brown spotting, my dr wanted to see me again. She was able to find the hb and said that things were still looking good. Now today, I have bright red spotting...no cramps and not gushing, but bright red. I have an appointment today at 4:15. I know that it doesn't necessarily mean the worst, but it's hard to stay calm and not panic until I know for sure that everything is either ok or if there is a problem....I hate not knowing...it's driving me nutty...and the crazy hormones aren't helping!

Thoughts and prayers for you and your bean! Keep us posted!

  • I hope everything is okay!!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Praying for and baby
  • Did she see a clot at all that's causing the blood?
    Hoping everything's ok for you!
  • Praying for you and the baby!!
  • Oh how scary! T&Ps that everything is ok.
  • They didn't see a clot at all on the ultrasound. Dr didn't have an explanation at all for the brown spotting other than some women just have spotting for no known reason. It just is making me really nervous since it is now red spotting.
  • Are you going in to the doctor today?
  • Never mind! Just saw you are. I hope everything is ok.
  • Glad your little peanut is ok!! It's easier said than done, but try to rest and relax.
I was spotting around the same time you were. I went in and everything was fine. This week, after using the bathroom, I had tissue/mucus the diameter of a quarter. Went in to see my ob and everything was fine.
The reason for my spotting is because my placenta is right above my cervix and there was some old blood there.
Good luck to you and your little peanut.
  • I have a similar situation at the moment, am really glad everything turned out well for you and your bean :)
  • Has she diagnosed you with a SCH (subchorionic hemorrhage)? I've been dealing with one since week 6 and your story sounds very similar to mine. Thoughts and prayers are with you
  • She hasn't diagnosed me with a SCH. I have another appointment next Friday and she said that they will monitor me closely for the time being. For now, I'm going to just try ("try" being the keyword) to relax and not be to much of a worry wart! While it stinks for any of us that are going through this, its encouraging to know that I'm not alone and that there are positive stories of everything being just fine! :)
