Yes!!! Been having braxton Hicks too so figured it might be due to dehydration but Yes, crushed ice and I'm just eating glass after glass. I never had this problem before either.
My Dr told me that is a sign off anemia and not to eat ice. He said if I start craving it to call him. Maybe something you want to run by your Dr to be on the safe side.
I am like this too, and I am anemic and taking iron.
I know this is weird, but at the Costco food court, if you order a fountain drink, the ice that comes out of the machine is awesome. It's some kind of special crushed ice. This has been my thing lately....
I've been (aware that I'm) anemic since I was 19. I've been a vegetarian for 22 years so when I was told I have low iron it wasn't surprised. I'm taking my prenatal and an iron supplement as well but still want ice. It's kind of just a habit now.
I chew ice all day every day! However I'm not anemic..... But it does give me heartburn which is terrible..... Who would have connected ice and heartburn.
I've known I was anemic since I was in high school, I've had to take iron supplements and eat lots of iron rich foods. Well this pregnancy alone has been the first time in my life where my iron levels are completely normal, and yet I still crave ice (sonic ice to be exact! Thank goodness the sell it in bags!! ) I checked with my doctor as soon I started having craving and my levels are still fine.
Yep me too. I did with my last pregnancy as well. I have heard iron deficient. Haven't been tested yet. Go to Dr . Next week. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Everyone reminds me that it's bad on my teeth. Oh well could be worse cravings to have.
This is a sign of picca, mild, and is usually from anemia! Can be really bad for your teeth. You should check with your doctor as u may need some iron supplements.
Ice is destroying my relationship. lol. j/k. DH hates the sound and complains every time he hears me crunching. Last night I ran him out of the bedroom. I felt horrible...but still finished my cup of ice.

It's a form of pica. A side effect of low iron. Def get checked or even just call your doc to see if it's ok to start otc iron pills.

Doc told me last time I was there that I had low iron, so Im not surprised that craving ice is a sign. Taking my iron, but still craving ice.
