My nipples need help

Here's the thing: my skin is SO dry. It started on my belly, then made its way everywhere else. The latest spot bothering me the most is my nipples. The skin is literally peeling. I have tried lotions, coconut oil, nothing is helping. My doc was a little stumped because she said lotions usually do the trick. Not for me :( Has anyone used those nipple balms for this or is it more for cracked nipples that come with breastfeeding? If you have, is there a brand you liked? The only one I've seen around stores is the Honest Company brand. I'll try anything!!

Re: My nipples need help

  • I haven't had that extreme of an issue, but I bought the Honest Company brand nipple balm and I love it. If you haven't tried it, it's worth a shot a think.

  • My nipples are like that too I'm considering buying lanolin cream from a brand called lanolish or something along those lines because lotion doesn't help mine either just stops the itch but I can never seem to get them to stop peeling

    Lansinoh is the brand!
  • I'd buy some Earth Momma Angel Baby Nipple Butter. It's good for a whole lot of things (notably breastfeeding), and I bet it may help you now. I'm not a fan of lanolin, myself.

That sounds like what I have their like shiny dry spots and kinda peeling I have it in a few spots above my belly button and between my boobs, my nippes itch sometimes too and hardly peel but i don't pay no mind to it but for my stomach and between my boobs I use the new Vaseline intensive care advance care (purple one) and then on top of that baby oil gel (the green one) it didn't make them go away but definetly made a huge difference, don't peel anymore and not half as bad as they were when I discovered them im hoping they go away after my son is born .
  • I will be making a trip to the baby store to look for some of this stuff! Thanks ladies :)
  • Yes!!! It's disturbing...I just started using Bio Oil about 4 days ago and it's helped so much!! No more seeing dead skin in my bra....gross!
  • @walterjena BIO OIL! How could I have forgotten about that?! I'll give that a shot too!
  • I know this may sound strange but lip balm may help.
  • I have nipple balm. Got it from Walmart. Works like a charm.
  • Lansinoh lanolin is what I'd use just because it is what worked the best when breastfeeding. I was literally bleeding and had chunks of nipple missing during the first 3 weeks and lanolin helped keep things from hurting in between sessions.
  • Lansinoh lanolin is great, stock up on the stuff.
  • Just be careful if your allergic to wool with lansinoh because you will have a reaction to
    It.
