October 2015 Moms

So nervous...

I have PCOS, which supposedly increases your chance of miscarriage, although my doctor says it doesn't. I had a miscarriage in October but have been doing well so far with this pregnancy (FTM). I'm 12w5d tomorrow and have my 12 week scan. Any other mothers with PCOS a nervous wreck? Wish me luck!

  • Good luck! My mom has PCOS and had three healthy babies. She did have several miscarriages, but she has always told me that if she made it to 11 weeks she was in the clear. That's just anecdotal, but I'm hoping it makes you feel better. I'm sure everything is just fine. I'll be thinking of you!
  • I have PCOS and I've made it to 13wks 5 days. I totally understand your nervousness. We tried for 4 years and this is our first time conceiving, so I've pretty much been a nervous wreck this entire time. But you're so close to hitting the 2nd trimester. Hang in there! Just think positive thoughts! @nycmommy13 do they have you on progesterone supplements or injections?

  • I have PCOS as well, and tend to worry about this, but I had an awesome pregnancy with DD, and so far, 14w5d, this pregnancy is going well too!
  • I have PCOS and miscarried twice before this one. If you're going to miscarry from PCOS, it is my understanding you wouldn't have made it this far. Let us know how it goes!
  • No supplements or injections. It took us 5 months to conceive naturally last time. After 3 months without a period after the miscarriage, my doctor ran some tests and discovered that my progesterone levels were low. He gave me a pill to kickstart my period and clomid to ovulate. I got pregnant that cycle. He said that after you get pregnant, the PCOS doesn't really matter anymore and there's no need to take progesterone.
  • I have PCOS. I was on 100mg of Clomid when I got pregnant. My doctor said not to worry about that, that its different for every woman. She said sometimes when you have PCOS you also have other hormonal issues that may contribute to your risk. I've never needed additional progesterone or femara, just didn't ovulate monthly. so far I'm 15 weeks..... I'm still a nervous wreck but there's really nothing we can do but take care of ourselves.
  • Saw the baby today. He/she was healthy and kicking away!
  • Yay congrats
