Workout & having a C section

How long do you have to wait till you are able to work out after you have a c section???

  • My dr told me 4 weeks best case scenario, but she said that between healing and waking up with baby I may not want to that soon!
  • My doc recommended 6-8 weeks.

  • I was advised 6-8 weeks as well. With my first child I waited about 8 weeks and was fine.
  • My doctor never told me a specific week number but he knows I workout a lot and told me to make sure to listen to my body and start slowly back into it.  I was going for walks around 2 wks after my son and then I ran a 5k about 5 wks after having him.  I was very lucky and recovered very well from mine and was able to stay active throughout my pregnancy and I think that helped a ton.  I'm hoping it will be the same way with this one as well.  Good luck
