Today I got really crampy at times with heavier bleeding but then subsides. Just trying to rest and take it easy. How about you? Was this your first pregnancy too?

Try a heating pad for the cramps. I had a D&C 2 weeks ago and it was my first pregnancy. Hang in there.

Yes I did have the heating pad out for these. I even got bad ones in the middle of the night so I had to use it while I tried to go back to sleep.

This would have been my 3rd pregnancy but I lost the baby and tomorrow I will have my first d/c I am very nervous and scared and feel extremely emotional

Don't be scared, @aaanjt13. If you'll be asleep for the procedure like I was, it really isn't bad. I couldn't sleep at all the night before because I was nervous, but it was over very quickly and I felt okay when I woke up. --The aftermath seems to vary a lot, as far as bleeding and cramping, so I don't know what to tell you to expect for that. But good luck, it will be over soon.

I was scared as well the night before, but it calmed me down that it is a common procedure that the doctors do and it will be over in just 30 minutes. Hang in there, I know this sucks.

I was real emotional when my doctor came to see me before my surgery. She held my hand and the nurses that were also in the or room with me kept reassuring me. I was asleep the while time during surgery and didn't know of anything going on during that. The last couple days for me have been better. Been trying to do things but nothing crazy just to help bring my spirits up. My husband also has been so great during this whole thing. He has definitely been my rock.

Did any of you start getting bad headaches after as well? I almost get one everyday.

@Tyounker the headaches are most likely from your hcg levels dropping. I always get a bunch in early pg when my levels are increasing. When do you go back to your Dr.? Might be worth checking in if your headaches are persistent or become severe. Xo

I had my 2nd D&C 6 days ago. I've had headaches and hot flashes at night both times. I feel like last time it got better after a few weeks. I know I for sure felt better after my first real cycle.

@thistle8677 I go may 1st for my next appointment. Today wasn't as bad but I seem to get one everyday. That and having diarrhea...I know tmi but not sure if that's common as well after the d&c

I had terrible headaches after my d&c. Dr prescribed me meds for migraines. She said it was my hormones levels changing. Once I got AF they were better.

I had my d&c on 04/12 and my period started last Sunday so 7 days later, I am still extremely bloated everyday from the ivf meds doss anyone know when the bloating will go away. Still wearing maternity pants since nothing else fits and no pregnancy really stinks.

I just had a d&c this morning. I feel fine so far. The same doctor who delivered my son did the surgery and I knew the anesthesiologist. That was very comforting to me. I wish everyone a speedy recovery. Let the physical and emotional healing begin!

I was told if it's not 20 days after the d&c it can't be a period yet? ...I was so scared of the procedure they gave me an anxiety med through my IV before they took me in the operating room. Helped a lot!

@lilp2015 I hardly bled at all after my D&C, but Monday (exactly 17 days after) I passed a few clots, and bled until yesterday, but then it stopped. It was definitely old blood, which makes me think not a period. I called the doctor and they told me my hormones probably dropped and my body was clearing out the system. It makes me wonder if I had waited if this was where I would have finally miscarried naturally, it gives me nightmares to think that I would have had to wait 20 days from finding out.

They gave me anxiety meds too, but just before the procedure because I started crying and I don't think they wanted to have my blood pressure rise.

@CarrieandRoy thank you I had my d/c on Tuesday and yes I was completely asleep everything came out well the hardest part now is the pain I feel I've been extremely emotional I don't know how to pass this I hope with time it'll get better but thank you for your response

Just had my first d&c today. This was my first pregnancy too. I found out this Monday and was able to get in. I was terrified of it before I went in but now that it's over I just have lite cramping. I feel like I can truly start the healing process now. Sorry for everyone who has to experience this.

I hardly bled after mine too. But, I started a natural miscarriage at home 2 days prior which was really scary. I almost passed out from blood loss. It took 2 weeks from the day I found out about the miscarriage. After the d&c I also just had light bleeding then 45 days later AF showed up.

@jenniferhasler after a few days after my d&c I tried to stay busy to keep my mind off of what just happened. There's still the emotional part of it for me. I'll have good days and bad. Especially when friends of my husband's and mine don't know we misscarried and mention something about being pregnant. there was one night where I just cried after a friends comment and had to go home....it's nice on here to talk to others too.

Did anyone here had a D&C with local anesthesia instead of general? My OB gave me both options (besides taking medication) and I am not sure what to do.

@carroetchen they put into a deep sleep. Told me I could wake up during procedure but not likely. Wasn't given any option.

It's been weeks since I had my d&c....some people know around me are becoming pregnant and I see posts of sonogram of friends that were close in dates when I was pregnant. I'm happy for them but at the same time it makes me sad, angry and even makes me want to try again sooner. I haven't really talked about it to my husband yet because he thinks I'm ok which it might seem like it but deep down it hurts like hell. We both were really excited when we found out we were pregnant and now we have to watch everyone else have babies.....it sounds selfish I think but that's just how I feel.
