all I want is MEAT MEAT MEAT. The problem? I've been a vegetarian for 12 years. And I'm not even craving good meats like steak & grilled chicken. Last night I dreamt about Arbys roast beef sandwiches and slim jims. ::hides face in shame::
Hey I'm interested in going more vegetarian based on food intake (more so because I just feel so blah when eating lots of meat) what have you had to help keep up all the nutrients that you need in your pregnancy? Sorry if this is a super dumb question. You just seem to have several years of experience living this particular lifestyle!(:
I was a vegetarian for years until last year when I was pregnant with my second child. I had dreams about eating bacon and wanted it so bad I eventually caved. I've been a carnivore ever since.
I didnt think I had cravings...but i noticed today that all my food "preferences" over the last week or so have involved a serious amount of beef...and cheese. I dont often eat beef...more of a chicken person.
Ive been on steak pie, lasagne, tacos, chilli, steak wraps and even went for the steak sub at subway. So much beef goodness. Also all of this comes with cheese lol
This is funny. Prior to this pregnancy I was such a carnivore and now I don't want to touch it. The smell, texture, etc etc. I can't stand the thought!

Same!!! It's extremely frustrating to DH because I can't even stand to cook it. Hoping this meat aversion goes away in the second trimester!

Normally I eat very clean & simply. I try to limit processed foods and eat fruits & veggies with every meal. I've done a lot of research regarding what nutrients I get from what veggies and what to pair together for better absorption. For protein I normally eat greek yogurt, beans, tofu and eggs. As long as you plan and take the time to prep foods, being a healthy vegetarian is easy peasy!
Lately though all I want is the processed crap - fake meats, any & all sorts of bread loaded with cheese, bagels and pb&js. My normal food routine is so out of whack!
Re: Carnivore
Edited because auto correct thinks it knows me.
