He is sitting very low..

I have carried normally low my whole pregnancy. I am 35 weeks and 3 days and he is so low I feel his head in my pelvis. I'm wondering if this is a normal thing? I have no signs of labor coming anytime soon. My husband and I tried to have sex yesterday and couldn't because it hurt and was very uncomfortable for us both. What he described sounds like he felt the baby's head in the amniotic sack about four inches past the entrance. I'm just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience. I'm still waiting for a call back from my doctor's and I'm trying really hard to prevent a trip to the hospital because if it turns out to be nothing, they treat you like you're an idiot. I haven't lost my mucus plug or anything, so that's why I'm a little in edge about it. He is so low, but I don't have any signs of labor approaching anytime soon.

Welcome to the really uncomfortable part of pregnancy....of course do what you feel is best for you, but from here out, until you are in labor there's not a lot that your doctor and/or the hospital can do for you....and you'll know when you're in labor...it won't be just a little uncomfortable....of course if you're in a lot of pain, not feeling baby move, etc etc. Call your doc, but you sound like the normal 35 week gripes to me.

  • Okay, I wasn't sure cause I had never heard someone complain about their baby's head being so low. It's difficult to walk, bend, or turn because his head shifts with my pelvis and hits all kinds of nerves. His fetal movement has been declining daily. But my doctor said that as long as I feel 10 kicks in 2 hours everything is fine.
  • I'm going though this my self. No signs of progress. Most Sex is uncomfortable, we did find one way but honestly it's not much fun (for me anyway) my doctor gave me an exercise to help but like anything it's temporary and the baby wiggles right back down there. It's the cat pose in yoga and you rock back and forth to get the baby to move up. Hope it helps.
  • If it helps any, know you're not alone and that it sounds pretty normal.  DD is very low and it's created some swelling in my lady parts -- and sciatica in my back!  I'm so over this!
