Anyone else carrying baby really low? (19 weeks)

The past few days I've felt like baby is literally sitting on my bladder down there and hanging out super low ... it's uncomfortable even to walk with all that pressure! Baby seems to move up a bit later in the day which relieves some of the pressure, but I'm hoping it's not going to hang out that low for the entire pregnancy! Anyone else in the same boat?

Re: Anyone else carrying baby really low? (19 weeks)

  • Yes, my baby is sitting super super low, literally on my bladder too. AND he is super big measuring almost 2 weeks ahead even though we are 1000% sure of conception date (IUI).

Sometimes he moves up a tiny bit and then I don't have to pee every 5 seconds anymore. Other times I am like omg the pressssuuurrreee!!!!! PS he is a boy
  • Yes!! Mine has been like that for several wks & I'm almost 21wks. It's very uncomfortable at times. I try to push her up & that helps for a little bit, but I'm very much ready for her to move up & stay up a while!

  • Ugh same here! So much pressure!! Gah! I have to pee all the darn time, the baby will move from time to time, but for the past week or two baby has been really low!
  • I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! I have my 20-week ultrasound on Friday so I should be able to see then exactly how low baby is hanging out, but in the meantime I'm trying to spend less time off my feet to relieve the pressure and combat gravity!
  • My baby is sitting really low even though my stomach looks like I am carrying high..wth?! It gets really uncomfortable but sometimes I can get BB to move by changing positions or laying down. I can't take it sometimes! I read that you tend to carry baby lower your second time around, and this is my second. Don't know what it is yet, but I am leaning towards girl, even though I heard that boys carry lower. Can't wait until May 11th to find out.

  • I'm a FTM ... sure hope my next baby doesn't hang out any lower! Although I'm sure once it's punching me in the ribs I'll be wishing it would move down a bit! I also have a very short torso, so at this point there probably isn't much room for the baby to move around in.
  • My stomach so weird I feel like it's so low I just look like my gut is hanging out

    :/

When I need to pee I need to go fast cause his low so he pushes down and I pee everytime I sneeze
  • OMG yes!! How do you move baby around??

My sweet, kicking boy pounces on my bladder. I have no idea how to move him. He always sits sooooo low!

Plus, I'm not peeing often enough making my bladder push against my hooha making me soooo sore. My doc said I need to pee way more often.
  • @piscesmommy222 same here! Our little guy is measuring two weeks bigger and we are positive of conception week too simply because anything earlier would have been physically impossible! He is hanging out very low too. I feel all you ladies with the having to pee constantly thing! I will be fine and then he must shift or something and I suddenly feel like my bladder is going to explode! Fun times lol

  • I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and also carrying very low. So low that at 13 weeks the doctor was unable to use Doppler due to the baby being so low. I have to pee very, very frequently. I also have random vagina pain.. Probably from the baby pushing on it. Haven't felt any movement yet, but hopefully soon. I was also low at 16 week appointment and Doppler said the heart rate was 150.
  • Me too ladies I went in today because I had beginnings of bronchitis dr found baby girl heartbeat at 158 she has been hanging out low like that the last month 20 week US Thursday
  • Oh goodness, my boys were high so I'm not used to this! This baby is sitting super low and seems quite content there. I need him/her to move it on up. I would like to stop going to the bathroom every five minutes.
  • Yea same here. Really low but i guess hes not sitting on my bladder. I do t have to pee all the time but its afecting my back and pelvic area. Its awful!! I went to the doctor and she suggested i use a maternity support belt and im going to look into a physiotherapist to help with the pain. This happened with my first as well and this time it happened quicker and more painful right away. So im doing everything i can. It got so bad last time it was hard to walk stand sit or sleep. Last night i put a heating pad on it and i got some relief and was able to sleep
  • I think it gets better, at least temporarily! By 20 weeks the top of the uterus is typically right where your belly button is, and baby is getting bigger meanwhile!
  • All day everyday it's getting really painful now sometimes can't stand up properly will be mentioning it at my next app
  • Yes. It hurts so bad I went into the doc to make sure my cervix wasn't opening. Everything checked out fine but the pain is almost unbearable.

I'm 20 weeks and six days and she's below my belly button. Apparently that's totally normal according to the anatomy scan! :)
  • Baby is currently on my bladder.. I think she's doing a happy dance. Baby alternates between somersaulting and sitting low..
    Geez
  • I too have horrible vagina pains from carrying so low. Lots of pressure and discomfort..........ugh!

I did the same! I went in to check for a UTI yesterday in case the bladder pressure/peeing all the time lately was due to a UTI. Nope, just the little rascal baby! The doc also checked my cervix and said it's completely closed, so that was comforting (but a bit painful!).

Ditto! Everything is super sensitive down there right now ... having sex the other night was so uncomfortable and did not feel good at all!
  • At 20wks the top of your uterus is only up to your bellybutton, so until then all babies are still low.
  • 21 weeks and my little girl is still hanging out pretty low and to the right. I get bad round ligament pain on that side/hip and a heavy, achy feeling on that half of my vag. I sometimes try to wiggle her up or something. Haha!
  • I got told at 17 weeks she was sitting very low in pelvis which causes my back ache lol x
  • At 20wks the top of your uterus is only up to your bellybutton, so until then all babies are still low.

Yeah, I knew my uterus was only to my belly button at this point, but I can definitely tell when the baby is hanging out near my pubic bone vs higher up closer to my belly button (where it's much more comfortable for me!).

  • I second what @jen83mn said! Baby has plenty of room that wouldn't be so uncomfortable...but Baby Boy stays as low to the ground as can be.
  • Yes!!! I was just talking to a gf about this!!! This baby boy is right above my vag and if I even take three steps, I have to pee! I'm only 20 weeks! Lol! But, I keep getting pressure and vagina pain from my boy sitting so low! Laying on my side really helps a lot, but I don't get to do that until my day is over.
  • Didn't read all the comments but went to the doc today at 19+4 and she said baby is right behind my belly button. Haven't had any discomfort or bladder troubles yet, baby has been good to me, but I'm sure I'll be making up for that this summer! Haha

Lucky! It is no fun when it sits directly on your bladder and makes it hard to even walk! Just hoping mine doesn't decide to stay that low as it gets even heavier ... ouch!

I'm hoping the best for you too! Move baby move! Haha
  • I'm also carrying really really low! My little guy rests right on my bladder. His kicks are usually near my groin area. I'm 21 weeks now. I'm not necessarily in pain but sex is quite uncomfortable due to him resting so low! :(
  • Hi, am I carrying low? Can you tell by a photo? I feel like I am
  • Me too ladies. Just had our 20 week ultrasound and the lady commented on how low she was.
    Yes she;)
I had a boy 7 years ago but dont remember feeling this constant pressure.
Could be because it was so long ago. Keep thinking its because it's def a girl;)
I never believe those ultrasounds 100%.
Praying we all get some relief
  • I am carrying really low too. I told my mom (we work together) the other day to tell her grandchild to get our of my vagina lol! She just laughed, which kinda made me a little mad. I was really in pain when the baby was that low. He/she seems to be a little higher today, but not much. I'm almost 19w, so I am hoping that the baby moves up soon. This going to the bathroom every 15 minutes because he/she is dancing on my bladder is no fun lol!
  • Omg yes! I hate wearing pants because my pants line presses on where baby is and it's so uncomfortable! It's like baby is fighting my bladder for space. Can't wait for baby to move up so I can start showing
  • So how are you ladies moving baby around...if you know how? @luzrembao The pants! Yes! Even loose things that can put pressure on my bladder are a no no.

I just want him to use up all the space he has available to him. I guess our bladders are a fun, spongy springboard. Can't blame him for liking it...
  • Hi, am I carrying low? Can you tell by a photo? I feel like I am

At this point it will look like everyone is carrying low since your uterus is only up to your belly button. For me, I can just tell if the baby is sitting low inside of me ... It moves around, so some days are better than others. The days the baby is hanging out low I feel more uncomfortable and pressure when I walk, and I have to pee all the time because baby is putting pressure on my bladder!
  • When we got to the ultrasound, his little feet were firmly pressed against my bladder! The tech was like "WOW he's really got his feet far down right on your bladder!!"

That sounds like my anatomy scan! "So his head is over here and his feet are here and he is kicking you *right* in the bladder!" I said, "I know!!!"

This morning I went pee 5 times in three hours. I got many sympathetic looks from the ladies at work :-<
