FTM 39 weeks, 2 days. Lost mucus plug at week 36 and still counting weeks. Currently have brownish or bloody discharge but I also had my membranes stripped at 38 weeks and 6 days (so last Friday) so that may also be why. I was 4 cm dilated that Friday with 80% effacement but docs don't want me at the hospital unless I'm feeling strong contraction every 5 minutes blah blah blah you know how it goes. Still though it's been 3 days, feeling Braxton hicks very sporadically but nothing gets stronger. I have major discomfort but I just had to put in my head that the baby will come out when he is ready and when God allows it because if not, I will drive myself to a point of insanity. I'm trying to stay focused and keep my mind off of it (500+ piece puzzles help lol) especially while no one lets me drive or do pretty much anything in my house while I am so used to being independent and I just stopped working last week. Went from being super busy to literally sitting back and waiting. Ok, got this off my chest. And Also, if you are in my position or similar, trust me, you can read as many stories for their moms about going into labor by trying things out but nothing is guaranteed as I am living proof that I have tried everything in the book and I am still pregnant. Every single pregnancy is different, that's what I have learned!

  • Don't stress momma she is coming , 39 + 2 feels like s lifetime but it will be over before you know, try to enjoy as much pre baby time as you can, once you relax she will know to come!

  • I know it's easier said than done, but keep baby where it is as long as you can! Can't hear them crying and no crapy diapers right now. Once they get here you'll have days where you wish they were back in your ute.

And just for the record, after 48 hours your mucus plug grows back, so it doesn't mean anything if you lost it at 36 weeks.
  • I'm a STM and realize it is hard not to have some nerves. Keeping some perspective could help. Remember, baby will come when he is ready. For the most part, this is really out of our hands. Realizing you just have to roll with the punches can help you find calm and peace, even when it's go time. Also, like so many other things, the anticipation is worse than the reality. Enjoy the fact you get to spend these last few days doing very little! You could be chasing around after a toddler who is trying to force you into an early delivery. Lol.
