Shower Games & Activities

Would love it if some mamas shared their ideas for fun shower activities and games! Thanks :)

Re: Shower Games & Activities

  • Check out Pinterest. I threw a shower for my SIL and got nearly every idea off the site. An especially fun one was decorating and writing messages on diapers with fabric safe markers.
  • Loading the player...
  • My favorite is writing the messages on the diaper for late night changes. I second Pinterest, there are a million ideas on there.

  • I threw a shower for a friend a couple of years ago. We decorated onesies which was fun. We are all pretty crafty so they turned out really cute and she actually used them. We also did the baby food blind tasting game and the messages on diapers.

  • The "price is right" game is fun! You buy a bunch of baby items (I.e. Diaper paste, baby food, bottles, binkies, etc.) and the guests have to guess the retail price if each item. At the end they add up their amounts and whoever is closest to total cost without going over wins. Then the mom to be gets to keep all the baby items. Another one is "winner takes all." You pass around a piggy bank and ask all the guests to put in lose coins or bills if they choose. Then you pass it around again and they can shake it and guess how much money is in it. They are told "winner takes all." What they don't know is they get a bottle of all detergent and mommy keeps the piggy bank with money for baby!
  • My best friend is throwing a shower for me at my house at the end of June, so we plan to take advantage of the nice weather in MN and do some outdoor games (weather-permitting). Here's a few of our ideas that are different than the usual games I've played at showers before (keeping in mind we have a pretty easy-going guest list who won't mind being a bit silly!):

    Baby Stroller Obstacle Course:
Put a doll in a stroller and set up an obstacle course! This can get as absurd as you want it. Set up cones and obstacles, such as re-diapering the baby and finding a lost sock. Depending on the number of people, this could be done in teams as a timed relay race, with each person on the team doing one of the obstacles. The team with the fastest time wins.

    Don't Drop Baby:
Fill up lots of water balloons, split guests into pairs, then pass out a water balloon to each pair. Each team will toss the water balloons back and forth simultaneously. If someone drops their balloon and it breaks, they must yell, "My water broke!" The last team standing with an intact water balloon wins!

    Baby Prediction Lottery:
Guests contribute $5 each to play the lottery and guess the baby's gender, birthday, and weight. The closest person wins the pot after the baby is born! (In order to win, guests must guess the baby's gender right, then be the closest at guessing the birthday. If there's a tie at this point, the win will go to the person closest to guessing the weight.

    Team Charades:
Using baby-related words. Split the group into three or four teams, with each teammate taking turns acting out a word and only their team guessing. Each team gets 5 minutes. The team with the most words guessed at the end wins. (Word examples: Pushing a stroller, blow-out diaper, mom in labor, etc.)

    Diaper Duty:
Divide your guests into even teams and give each group a roll of toilet paper. Set a timer for 5 minutes and instruct guests to wrap a team member in a mock diaper. The team with the most creative diaper wins a prize ... and the photos will be priceless.

    Shower Gift Bingo:
Start by making bingo cards, ensuring that each square on the card lists a possible baby shower gift. Then print a few different versions of the card. (You can also find these bingo cards on the Internet.) When the new mom is opening her presents, guests keep track of what she's received with coins, buttons, or markers, then call "Bingo!" when they've won.
  • I'm not a fan of shower games but my mil is insisting for my family shower. . We're doing one where we have bags. .. each with a letter of the baby's name (original idea was to spell out baby shower) and there's a baby item in the bag that starts with the letter (i.e "b" bottle) ppl try to guess the items and i get to keep the goodies in the bags. I'm also doing gift opening bingo.

    These are cool.

  • I think we may do a price is right type game as well! It'll be fun for the grandparents and older generations to guess the prices these days!

We're having twins, so we may do a "match the famous twins" type game too!

Another one that was done at my good friend's co-Ed shower was her and her husband were blindfolded and each had to change a diaper on a baby doll! Safe to say it was good laugh!
