Success after IF

I can't believe I'm getting excited to CD!

Never thought I'd say that!  I always thought "eeewww, cloth diapering = gross! "  but, Ava has been leaking every night now for the past week, and the diapers keep exploding, which means those little gel things get all over her, and she has a horrible rash.  So, I'm done.  I currenlty have 12 CD's on order.  Can.  Not.  Wait. to start!

Now if only I could figure out the whole washing CD thing... any moms want to tell me how they wash their CD's???

oh, and shopping for them is very addictive... I mean really, how cute are these??

  • Good for you!  I was thinking about making the switch...especially now that I will have two in diapers at the same time!

you should!  the EFF board is extremely helpful!  also, on Saturday, www.babysteals.com  is having some CD's on there, 2 for $15, which is a real bargain, I plan on getting some!

  • You'll LOVE it!  I adore our CDs.  We've been CDing since birth and I think those who don't are missing out.  I actually teach CD classes here locally now!

Prefolds are the only thing you really need to prep before using them the first time; with other diapers just be aware that they'll get more absorbent the more you wash and dry them but it's not really necessary to prep them.  Other than that, once they've been used, use a good detergent (which are you planning to use?), cold rinse, hot wash with detergent/cold rinse cycle, and extra cold rinse.  And no fabric softener or bleach!!!  That's the short version -- let me know if you have any more questions.

I have some goodmamas I can sell you if you want -- just let me know.  I have some other CDs too that we don't need anymore, but most of them are probably already to small for you.  I'm a huge fan of buying used -- it costs so much less especially when you're just getting started, and it lets you try new things.

If you don't mind posting your e-mail address I can e-mail you back if you have any more questions and I can send you some additional info, but that's up to you.

    ENJOY!!! Big Smile
