Hi, all -
I've been around the TTC world for a couple of years now. I just turned 46 - have been trying for 2 years. Tried IVF, with 4 implanted and failed, clomid, maca, wheatgrass, and now, chasteberry. I was told by a friend that chasteberry works with the pituitary gland to regulate progesterone. Anyone have any experiences with it? I've been reading other boards and have seen a lot of success... just wondering if anyone else has tried it. Also... have seen a lot of posts on other boards by women that have miscarried multiple times going on chasteberry, taking it through 12 weeks and having success with keeping the pregnancy... I've had trouble with that as well. Any personal thoughts on this supplement?
Re: Chaseberry?
Do you have a progesterone problem? I don't personally have experience with chasteberry but know people who have tried it without success. I definitely believe in certain supplements (especially antioxidants for egg quality) but I'm always leery of self-treating suspected IF issues with herbs... it's like taking meds without testing.
What I have seen work for more women with progesterone issues is stronger ovulation. Just my opinion but I would probably concentrate more on egg quality (CoQ10, DHEA, eliminating BPA plastics from diet) than trying to 'regulate' progesterone that might be fine in the first place... I hope this helps.
