Greyson vs Grayson

We are decided on a name but torn on spelling.
The American-ized way is to spell GRAYSON with an A
The English way is to spell GREYSON with an E

With the last name of GRANT already sharing "GRA" I'm not sure which visually looks better.
Grayson Grant
Greyson Grant

With the rise in the movie 50 Shades of Grey, I feel like the "E" spelling is going to become more popular here in the US.
But I feel like when hes older having to tell his name over the phone or in person they are automatically going to assume its GRAY.

Any input?
When you think of Grey/Gray what do you think of spelling wise.

Re: Greyson vs Grayson

  • I like the way Grayson looks better, but that's just me. I love that name too!

  • We were gunna name our little boy Greyson , but we ended up deciding on something else. But I love it with a E I think with it being used as a first name and how popular it has become I think people will think to spell it with an E. At least most. Lol but I love the name most definitely with the E.
  • Grayson in my opinion.
  • I like Grayson. I think it looks really good with your last name.
  • I like greyson better normally, but I like Grayson with your last name :-) I think the gra- consistency makes it flow nicely!
  • Grayson is our top choice on names... We like the Grayson way because it matches better with the last name... Otherwise I actually like Greyson... Was even thinking Greysen at one point so I would say Greyson for you as you like it better with your last name...
  • I would go with your gut on this. I can see people misspelling it either way as to what there preference is. I'm Kristen and it's spelled so many ways and it's not a big deal at all :)
  • Grayson. Only because that's how I've seen it spelled, so that one feels right to me.
  • We decided on Greyson for our little man due Aug 4th. I just like the way it looks better. It's a personal opinion. Plus Greyson is less popular spelled this way.
  • I like it with the E. Even if someone misspells his name at first that'll be an easy fix.
I'm a girl named Tyler and it's hard to convince people I'm actually a female when applying for new jobs or getting phone interviews... LOL.
    Anyway, Greyson is nice!
  • I Love this name. It's so popular now. I know 4 babies born in the last 9months with both spellings. I like Grayson. My cousin is 34 and spells his name Greyson. (I always called him Grey)
  • I love this name, and wanted to name my son Greyson, but my husband said no because our last name is a color, and didn't want 2 colors for his name. I vote for the spelling with an e :)
  • Grayson. I like it with grant. Plus when people get the color gray mixed up with grey it just makes me think of 50 Shades. Uggggg... I hate that
