Before my LO was born had had off and on back pain. Since his birth and the regnancy it's gotten worse. I was worried about it being something from the epidural and saw a doctor about the pain yesterday. Turns out my lower two vertebrae have little spce between them and are causing the problems. And I found out degenerative disc disease runs on my moms side of the family.
This explains the pain but I'm wondering if any other moms here have this or a similar issue and what you're doing about it. My doctor gave me pain meds but I'm worried about having another. My husband wants a second child but will having this problem hinder me from a second child?
Sorry you're going through that. My situation isn't quite the same. What I've noticed since giving birth is my tailbone gets sore very easily — especially if I'd been sitting on a hard surface. I've heard that it's because many women bruise their tailbone during delivery and it can take awhile to heal. Mine still hasn't 100%, so I'm taking a watch/wait approach. I might seek some treatment if it continues beyond six months.

This is an excellent question for your doctor, back care specialist, etc.
Though technically I don't forsee it hindering your ability to conceive a second child.

I plan on asking the doctor. However the doctor I saw only spoke Japanese but the follow up doctor speaks English so I plan on asking him today when I go in about it.
I started seeing a chiropractor regularly, and after suffering with back pain for 20 years, I am virtually pain-free following a year of treatment. I noticed a major difference after my first visit, and felt great after going for a couple months.
