Anterior placenta

Now I know why I still haven't felt any kicks. My OB told me today at our anatomy scan that I have an anterior placenta. I was getting worried why I haven't felt any flutters. My OB did clarify what round ligament pains were too. That I definitely know now how they feel.

I can't wait for my next OB visit!

Re: Anterior placenta

  • Same here. I'm 17.5 weeks and doc said not to be surprised if I don't feel anything until 22+ weeks. Baby is okay, so that's all that matters, but as FTM I'm ready to feel those flutters and movement already!

  • We went to an elective us today and found out mine is too!! Baby #3 and was getting worried bc I couldn't feel her! Before we know it we will be complaing about how far in our ribs they are!! Lol!!!
  • I actually found that out today as well, but I've been feeling flutters for a few days now! I told my doc amd she said that it's possible to feel them with an anterior placenta just not common in the early stages. They are very Suttle and quick but it's most certainly not gas or tummy rumbles.
  • Me too! I'm 20 weeks and FTM. I can't wait to feel the baby actually move. I feel pregnant but not so much since I really can't feel the baby move. At times I feel a flutter but it's very far and apart. I'm so worried that I won't be able to ever feel the baby move because of the position of the placenta
  • I'm 20 weeks and just found out today mines anterior too...soo relieved I was getting worried why I wasn't feeling her move yet...but on the U/s she was moving around like a wild woman!
  • Just found out today that I'm in the same boat too. My sister in law is pregnant and she said that she felt her baby move at 16 weeks, so i was worried I haven't felt the baby move, turns out its normal with the placenta position. Crazy to see her move on the ultrasound but can't feel it, just glad baby's doing good!
  • I have an anterior placenta as well. I only found this out on Monday. I have been able to feel the baby move for a while now tho. My husband can't feel it or see it yet tho.
  • I am pretty sure I have one as well like I did with my last baby because I am not feeling anything and already felt my 3 boys before now.
  • I have one too. Im thinking I have felt light taps a few times but nothing more than that. I am almost 17 weeks and can't wait for some nice jabs.
  • Me too. I felt one kick when my cat sat on my belly, but mostly I just feel what feels like flipping/rolling. Makes me feel nauseous!
