Moving to Columbus from Charlotte, NC in a week....wondering if you ladies can recommend some fun things to do in the area. They can be kid friendly or fun date night spots!
I have spent a lot of time in Columbus! The zoo is one of the best in the country, it's Jack Hanna zoo. There is also cosi the science center for kids. Short North is great for date night. I hope you like football because everyone wear OSU stuff and talk about the team, ALOT!! I am a big fan but my Husband is a Penn State guy. We go to the game between them every year but will have to miss this year because the baby is due the next weekend!!

@llynde5 my hubby eats, sleeps and breathes anything BUCKEYES!!! We are starting to pack up the UHaul this weekend and he already stated he is missing the spring opener due to this! Our announcement was my son in a Buckeyes Jersey and an OSU onesie.
My sister lives in Columbus and I absolutely love visiting. They have great food everywhere, so many local places. My favorite breakfast place is North Star. And you must get ice cream at Jeni's! Short North area is great for date night. Visiting Columbus at the end of May and since I can't drink we looked for other things to do... Can't wait to visit the zoo, I've heard it's awesome. There are good bike paths and lots of yogis in Columbus if you are into that. In the summer there's a festival almost every weekend. Not sure about kid stuff but I'm sure I'll find out in the years to come. Enjoy!! Hope you like it there. It's a great city.
Yes!! Schmidt's!! I love the German Village. What part of Columbus? Burbs? Easton town center and Polaris have good shopping. My Ex-boyfriend and I were in the process of building in New Albany when we broke up almost ten years ago. Needless to say he got columbus in the breakup but I got the dog:)
We are actually renting for about 6 months in the New Albany/Westerville area and then hopefully buying once we know the area better. Hubby's new job is near Upper Arlington.
i used to live closer to columbus. for the most part, high st is the center of it all with really neat shops (flower child is by far my favorite) and food (buckeye donuts, north star, etc), and the summer always has festivals going on that are really enjoyable! cosi and the zoo are fun and easton is really nice during the warmer weather! if you venture a little further to downtown worthington, there are farmers markets and even vintage sales that happen during the weekends and it is very family oriented as far as shops and restaraunts (and its my hometown, so i'm a little biased)
I grew up in Westerville and my family is still there. My sister has two boys and I can tell you there is a TON of stuff to do. She had the kids enrolled in music class, gym class, etc when they were babies. There are a ton of cool places to let the kids go and play and the adults can watch them. I wish I had places like they do where I am now
Good luck with the move! It really is a great place to live.
I live in Dayton but my in laws live in Columbus near Polaris mall. For date night, I agree about Jeni's ice cream. Add Boston Stoker coffee!!! Also, there are a ton of cool restaurants downtown and near Polaris. For the little one, COSI, the children's science museum, is awesome as is the Zoo. There are lots of state and local parks as well.
