I've been dealing with the same issue. As long as your hormones are out of wack I don't think any amount of product will keep it away, unfortunately. Unless any other mommies out there have found the cure! I'd love to get any positive or successful feedback as well.
My dermatologist prescribed clindagel 1%. It is one of the only pregnancy safe products. I have been doing my monthly facials, exfoliate, and use murad products which has worked for me.
Ugh. I feel like a teenager again - with more acne. I never had an issue before I got pregnant. But now, little pimples and bumps everywhere. I want my clear skin back. [-(
I went my whole life without acne, then at about 20 I started getting it, and it's horrible. I can't find anything that works and most things aren't safe while your pregnant. I think mine is climate related (I live in socal). Every time I go on vacation or back to the east coast my skin clears up and looks mostly perfect. Then I come back west and I look like a pizza again. The best thing is exfoliating to keep your pores clear and not overly inflamed. But acne starts deep in the skin, I even tried antibiotics before but nothing stops it from starting
I've been using Clinique for a while (was using the oily skin wash but acne toner and lotion), but since my doctor told me to stay away from saliycic acid (in the toner), I've switched to the oily skin toner and kept the acne lotion (benzoyl peroxide). It's hard finding anything that doesn't have salicyic acid in it at Target to use to scrub my face at night.
Yup, it's so much fun isn't it? I've had it since I was 14, but it has been pretty bad since I got preggo. I bought a blue light mask at Target recently, because it's supposed to be safe for pregnancy, but once I opened it the manual said it hadn't been tested for pregnancy and could not be recommended. So I'm going to ask my doctor at my next appt if I can use it. I hope so, it has really good reviews! Good luck, and just remember, it's probably just temporary and you'll have your old skin back after you have the baby!
I too never had acne until I was 22 or 23. I've tried everything and nothing has really ever worked. Before finding out I was pregnant I was using a salicylic wash and retinol lotion. Of course when my doctor found out about this I got in some trouble and she told me to try more natural products. So I switched to Burts bees face wash with royal jelly (which gets my skin so clean without making it feel dry), Cetaphil lotion (which is just an amazing lotion for anything), them I dab tea tree oil on my problem areas. I only do the tea tree oil before bed since it smells but this routine has worked better for me than anything else I have ever used. I will probably continue after this pregnancy. I hope this helps.
I am in the skin care industry. Being pregnant you aren't to use anything with vitamin a or salacylic acid. It causes your blood to thin. I work with dermalogica products. They make an ultra calming face wash and a daily micro exfoliant. I would recommend those products. They are good for our sensitive pregnancy skin and the daily exfoliant helps rid excess skin cells we are shedding more frequently. Even if you have oily skin it is important to moisturize. If you aren't hydrating your skin after washing your body will over produce oils which lead to more breakouts. I recommend active moist. I hope this helps. Feel free to private message me!
I have been using biore deep pore charcoal cleanser and it works really well for me. It hasn't cleared up the marks from old breakouts but it has completely stopped me from getting any new breakouts.
I have always had very congested skin, that if not taken care of daily breaks out into gross acne all over my face.
Since I can't use any of my previous skin care (tretinoin), I've been using a skin serum from Alpha Hydrox with 14% glycolic acid. I mix a few drops with my nightly moisturizer and it's been keeping my skin in really great condition so far. Just be sure to use SPF in the morning.
Check with your doctor and see how it goes. Good luck!
Hey so mine was doing this . However I've been drinking loads of water and miracles have happened . I also use PCA Blemish control bar . It's great better than proactive and the ingredients are safe!
