Have you changed your skin care routine since getting pregnant?

so this thread was inspired by my acne filled pregnant face

I usually have a few breakouts here and there and I struggled with acne as a teen but since getting pregnant my face has broken out so bad !! Before getting pregnant I was using an oil free foam wash and a really light moisturizer and my skin was fairly clear (I've always had oily skin so I'm prone to breakouts) , I've still been using the same products and i think it's time to switch!

Anyone else change their skin care routine? What products do you ladies recommend or use on a daily basis? Even if you don't suffer with acne what do you use?

  • I changed mine up! I use cetaphil wash and lotion and it's been working ok. It's mild, the lotion is light feeling and my face is not as oily! I used to use an acne wash and lotion but when I found out I was pregnant I changed.

  • @beccas387 a lot of people have been recommending I use cetaphil , think I'll give it a try :)) thanks
  • I use lemon juice or organic apple cider vinegar as a toner after I wash my face. I let it dry and gently wipe it off w/ a damp cloth afterwards, then I moisturize.

  • To be honest my routine has stopped because I'm soooooo tired! Haha

I typically use cetephil. Its no miracle wash, but it doesn't dry out my skin, and thoroughly cleans it.
  • I've used cetephil for years!
  • I love Cetaphil
  • I use the Yes To line they have it at target. It's like 95-98% natural and it works AMAZING .. The Yes To Blueberries line is my favorite face wash and day moisturizer and I love the Yes To Cucumbers night cream ... I use the Yes To Coconuts shampoo and conditioner also ... All their products are amazing and work so well
  • I broke out horribly too! The smell of basically any wash or lotion made me throw up, so I switched to oil washing. Dampen my face with hot wash cloth, massage raw virgin coconut oil on to my face, wipe off with hot wash cloth and moisturize my eyes if I feel like it (which I don't usually). After 2 weeks my face was crystal clear! Seems like it would make you break out more, but coconut oil is antibacterial and naturlally moisturizes. Swear by it now.
  • I've changed over to Isagenix skin care line and it's amazing!! No more break outs and my skin is glowing
  • The acne is no joke....I switched everything up to the Belli skincare line...specifically made for preggos!! Seems to be helping with the breakouts...I use the scurb, facewash and acne spot treatment. Beth bath and beyond sells it too!
  • I used to have a pretty extensive skin care process due to bad skin, included medicated topical treatments. As soon as I got pregnant, I switched to Cetaphil and a daily moisturizer with SPF. Not sure if I just have better skin due to being preggo, but it's working better than all the other stuff I used before! Here's to better skin post-pregnancy, too!

I used products like Lush and Aveeno when I first got pregnant. I had terrible acne. My doctor told me its because of the toxic chemicals that are found in the products we use daily. I was horrified when I started reading the ingreditents on the labels. I switched all of my houshold and personal products to Ava Anderson Non Toxic in Feb 2014. I have faithfully used them and recently became a consultant because I am so passionate about spreading the message about avoiding toxic chemicals and sharing the research with fellow mammas and mothers to be. I would be happy to share my knowledge with anyone interested. Please send me an email at macderment.r@gmail.com or visit my Ava site to learn more www.AvaAndersonNE.com
  • My acne has been horrible. I've actually cried about it a few times bc it's so bad. The only thing I have found that seems to make any difference is witch hazel. (I tried all the belli and cetaphil with no success. I think the belli line made it worse). After using witch hazel after washing with Dove, My acne has subsided some but now it looks like some of the blemishes have scarred. I'm looking forward to microdermabrasion after this baby is here!
  • I use the Belli products and avoid anything that has parabens as an ingredient.
  • I use the brand JAFFRA its very pricey and hard too find i brought the package though Shower Gel and Body lotions i use very little because its really smooth and silky to the touch.
  • I Use The Pink Grapefruit Scrub And Then An Acne breakout Spot Cream. On My While Face.
Mostly My Hair Has chAnged though
