Just curious to hear what everyone's doing. Personally, I haven't been able to reach that sucker yet.

Yup. High, low, firm, soft, I'm all about checking the cervix.

Yup. I even bought a kit so I can see my cervix.

Nope. Not interested, or I don't think it's worth it.

I would if I could find it/knew how.

Re: Do you check your cervix?

  • I just thoroughly read through this section in TCOYF so I think I'm going to try it out next cycle (provided I don't get a BFP this cycle) in addition to temping, charting CM and using OPKs.

I'm curious...there's a kit to check your cervix??

  • I saw something on the My Beautiful Cervix page that I guess is how a lot of those photos get uploaded.

  • I'm afraid of my cervix. Idk why. Just creeps me out...

    I feel the same way!

  • Only finger allowed up there is DHs.

Lol. I don't even check internally for CM (maybe done it once or twice).
  • Heck yeah!  After I read how to do it and did it for my first charting cycle I felt all-powerful.  I also felt totally cheated that I never knew much about this extremely important part of my body.  Even if you don't want to do it all women should be aware of how to do it and how it changes through your cycle.  Knowledge is power :)
  • I've tried! I have what's considered a high cervix and my fingers can't reach it.
  • @Embuzz247 I think that must be my problem, too. Because, seriously, I can't find it!!

  • I didn't do it with my first and I conceived the first month temping (4 months not temping prior to this).  I feel like temping, CM and OPKs give me plenty of information so I don't see the need.

Even my RE commented that it's unusually high up there! He said it's fairly common and nothing to worry about, but I cannot reach it at all.

Even if you squat and check it out?

Have you tried squatting and bearing down?
    My TTC History:
    2009: missed miscarriage #1 at 9 weeks (trisomy 16)
    2010: Infertility
2011: Diagnosis and treatment (low sperm count, anastrozole for DH, clomid for me + IUI)
    2012: Baby #1
    2014: Baby #2
October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)
    March 2016 BFP#5, due November 2016.

    My Charts since 2009

  • I check it every morning in the shower. My cervix is easy to reach (or I have freakishly long fingers).

The only issue I have is telling the difference between EWCM and semen. Obviously trying to BD during the fertile time makes this even trickier. Any advice @TheBorg7of9 ?

Ff has a q&a on it. I have heard ewcm stretches and senen doesn't. I have also heard that one floats and one sinks. .. Yes I have dropped cm in a cup of water. :\">

Try checking sfter you have sex, but when you're not in your fertile period so you can see what semen looks like without ewcm

Sometimes semen stretches.  I know this because it confused the bejesus out of me a few weeks ago.

I have, and I can almost feel it with the very top of my finger, but not enough to get any data out of it. I can feel cm, but not enough to tell if it's open/closed, soft/firm.
