I just want to nest!

I seriously have had NO energy for the past like 4 weeks. I wake up at 6am, and then fall back to sleep around 9am. Then won't get up until noon or 1pm. Why is waking up and functioning so damn hard? I know I'm in my third tri, and baby is doing a lot of growing, but I don't feel like I should be this tired. :(
Anyone have some tips, or advice on getting my energy levels UP? My doctor just giggles and says "You're almost there girl!" I know I am, but I'm starting to feel usless as shit.

  • I have no desire to nest and my 2 year old is keeping me busy. My house needs a serious deep cleaning, plus our basement is being reno'd and the mudder was sanding and forgot to turn the furnace off and run the industrial fan out the window so now our entire house has a layer of dry wall dust on it. Too tired and lazy for that sh*t.
Don't have any advice but know that you aren't alone. Enjoy resting! I've started to make a daily to do list so I'm prepared once this little guy makes his appearance. Wish I could fast forward the next couple weeks.
  • I wake up tired from tossing and turning all night and just fight through the tiredness I feel. Some days I have to take a nap. Otherwise I will become a cranky bitch and no one in my house really wants that haha. Put some music on! Music always gets me going. Especially now that he weather is becoming nicer (finally!), I open the windows and let all the goodness in.
  • I felt this way too and didn't think that the nesting urge would come for me because even thinking about walking across the room felt like this un doable task for me. But when the nesting did come it was like I just got a burst of energy that came from nowhere and this urge that it had to get done so I don't know if you will experience it that way too but that's what I experienced literally the day before my water broke!! Lol

When do you go to bed? Can you go to bed earlier? I have to be up at the ungodly hour of 5:30am for work so I force myself to go to sleep by 9:30pm. If you have the ability to rest, then you should!
  • I'm still working full time, but would love to sleep and hang out all day on the weekends. Unfortunately, with a 2 year old and a house that needs cleaning, that doesn't happen. I've found that I feel best and am less tired if I just make myself get up and go. I didn't want to spend all of my time last weekend deep cleaning our top floors, but I did and it made me so much happier than when they weren't done. I took my time, sat down whenever I felt the need, and drank a ton of water.

...plus it made me feel not as bad about housing an ice cream sundae on Saturday night!
  • Apologies ladies, I was finally cleaning the bathroom!
@mnmarcy - Yeah I definitely have to take little breaks here and there through the cleaning process. If I didn't i'm sure i'd fall over and not get back up. Haha
@cpage2211 - YES! The weather is finally breaking. Which means I can open some windows and enjoy the breeze while cleaning. (Although it's been doing some raining here in Ohio.) Bummer.
@remingtonang - My mother said the same thing actually. She said the day before her water broke, she had this HUGE burst of energy, and she literally scrubbed everything down. I guess that is one way your body lets you know that it's almost baby time :)
@SmrBrd2012 - I go to sleep normally around midnight (If i can fall asleep that is). Or I can crash out around 9pm, and then wake up at midnight, and be up for hours. It really just depends.
  • I wish I wanted to nest. I made myself though. My mom came to my house to keep me on track. We did some deep cleaning, lots of laundry and organized baby's room. Now just to keep everything clean until baby girl comes! Only 5 more weeks!
  • I so feel where you're coming from. I'm not sleeping well at night due to back, hip, and pelvic pain. Its pure hell but I sleep better during the day. I've got 18 days left and SO much to do. My family will be here in 13 days and my house needs some TLC lol.

If you find nesting motivation with even an ounce to spare please send some my way lol.

I will send some as soon as I get it! Lol
  • I still need to buy a dresser, set up the pack and play, wash the baby clothes and linens...so much to do. I'm tired just keeping my house clean and wrangling a 6 and 9 year old. lol

We have a schedule on the calendar that has these things posted on different days so me and DH can do them together. I'm hoping that having a plan helps.

My mom, who had 7 of us, says that I will feel the need to do everything at once right before the baby comes. I guess we'll find out.
  • I'm suffering over here to I feel so exhausted and don't want to waste my day but doing 1 chore feels like the biggest chore in the world.. At least apparently once baby is here we get an adrenaline rush and our energy goes up for a couple of months... Well at least that's what my friend tells me I'm holding on to hope that that is correct

I've heard that from several people too! And I hope it's true.
I feel like the biggest bump on a log.
  • I'm 36w and want to nest soooo badly, but we'll be moving before May 1st so...there's really no point :( I just have to wait. I don't work and I've been sleeping way too much like you. I wake up a million times, take forever to fall asleep, drag myself out of bed to get my 3yr old breakfast and then fall asleep while he piddles about the house. My husband stays up real late so he's usually sleeping until well after noon. So I force myself to wake by 11am and do lazy stuff w/ my child (crafts and such) until about 4 or 5 when i crash again...wake up at about 8 and then send myself to bed at 11. Sooooo tired all the time.
  • God it feels good knowing I'm not the only one!! THIS SUCKS!!!!
