Omigosh, Jill Duggar went through 70 hours of labor before an emergency c-section! I'm hoping she's able to vbac since I know they're 'open to as many children as God will give' them. I had an 8 hour labor & a 6 hour labor, before having a c-section both times. Also, I believe she went through 2 days of that labor at home with no meds, you go girl!!! I'm all about the pain meds myself. ;)

Also, even though I'm not really religious, I love Baby Dilly's name: Israel Michael Dillard. So cute!

  • I had to be induced due to BP issues with my first, so I don't know what it feels like to go into natural labor. I'm hoping that this time around I can have him on the day of his choosing, however I am all about an epidural.
I am not religious but I adore the sugar family. They have such good personal values and respect everyone and everything.
  • With my first I was like iam not useing any drugs I can so do this jajaa boy was I full of it lol with my second got to hospital asking for them right away wasnt going to try that again with this one Iam pretty sure iam using drugs again jajajaj
  • Something I read said that her mother had a c-section early on and has had multiple v-backs so I am sure she will try as well.

I must admit, while I don't have cable so I can't watch the show, this family intrigues me to no end! How they make it work, with all the kids who are all so good. I am not religious either, but they are truly amazing!

@PerkinsFam3 I love the name Dilly too! What a cute little name!! :)
I've only seen the show a few times, but they're such a sweet family.

@barrelocarol it's not crazy to want a natural birth at all!! :) that being said! I've never gone that route myself!! lol the best advice I've ever recieved was to have a birth plan, but know somehow, something will change. And that's okay, we all have our own journey, and no ones birth is wrong!
With my first I labored at home for what felt like forever. I was sent home Friday with contractions, but not progressing and had DD1 on Monday. Come Monday morning I was just exhausted. And DH is so sweet, he let me pick any path to our baby I wanted and needed. But you'll find your way! I promise!!
  • I guess I am the lone wolf. Once I found out about "blanket training" I can't stand to look at any of them.

  • @SweetnSassy23 I wish I hadn't looked up blanket training. How awful! Why would anyone do that?!

I have no respect for those parents. I don't know how you treat a child that way.  It is absolutely unacceptable.
  • Blanket training? Someone enlighten me?
  • Googling now...
  • I had to be induced because I went a week past due date then 28 hrs of labor and ended up having to get a c-section with no meds so I feel her pain. Hoping this one isn't as traumatic. My husband even wonders why I would want more kids after going through that lol

@PerkinsFam3 I don't know the complete details because I was too turned off to finish reading, but I have the basic gist.  When baby starts learning how to crawl, you put it on a blanket and tell him/her to stay there.  When baby moves off blanket, you spank and put him/her back on the blanket. Repeat until child is submissive (or behaving).  In other words, lack of parenting and complete horseshit.
  • Yikes! There's a lot of scary stories out there about this mindset.

    @PregNancyClark

It's completely unsettling and disrespectful to the baby.  It's mind boggling.

I went into PTL at 28 weeks with my first.  Fortunately they were able to stop progression (I did make it to 3 cms).  I then continued to labor for another 6 weeks!!!  YES--- REAL measurable contractions!!!!!!!  Needless to say, I was exhausted once DD made her appearance at 34 weeks.

I did receive an epdiural for the final hour of pushing... I just had zero energy at that point and needed whatever support I could get!

@abs99 oh my goodness!!! They would've had to give me an epidural way before the last hour!!! :) you're a rockstar!
