Thinking about having this baby on my own, as selfish as it may sound I'm sure I would be better off doing it this way... Then my partner can stay home with our son and we dont have to rely on anyone to look after our boy while we take off to hospital... Not been very supportive anyway so dont see why he would need to be there...,.

Has anyone else done this? How did it go?

  • Hmmm...as the mom of 2 littles, I see your point.

BUT - what if there was an emergency where you and baby would be separated?  Would you be ok with no legal guardian being there for baby?  Would you be ok with no support person being there for you?

I'm sure there are tons of women who deliver without having a support person present (military wives, fast deliveries where dad can't get there, single moms...) but IDK if I would PLAN for my delivery without a support person present.

  • You are right I wouldn't be happy being separated if an emergency came....
  • Wouldn't that be selfish? Not letting dad be part of the most important part of life-birth?
  • You should create whatever situation you feel would give you the most confidence and comfort.
