37 weeks baby is here!!!

just wanted to let everyone know my lil lily pad came early. Also wanted to give you all a heads up on water breaking as it was different for me this time. With my first girl I experienced a sudden "pop!" And then a gush of fluid. With my second girl it didn't rupture until I was in active labor and dilated to 7. With this baby I experienced a very slight slow trickle that made me think I was "peeing" myself lol. This lasted for about a half hour to 45 minutes and then it finally gushed!! It was different and just thought I'd share with you. After my labor did not progress on its own I reluctantly agreed to pitocin to help augment my labor. My attempted epidural did not "take" so I ended up giving birth naturally. Which for any of you seasoned moms who've experienced the pitocin without any type of pain block it's extremely challenging and painful. My intentions aren't to scare anyone with horror stories but just to inform you that it happens sometimes with the epidurals. I had always heard that it can happen but I had two great and wonderful experiences with my 1st and 2nd daughter and I just was unprepared and the experience I ended up with was unexpected. With that being said I have a beautiful baby girl born 4/13/15!! So happy and excited about our new edition :)

I am planning to breast feed. So far so good and she has had no problems latching on. :) trying to savor our last night before going home! My other girls are so excited to bring her home! They're so sweet with her!
  • Congratulations
  • It sounds like it was pretty tough to deal with some of the challenges of labor that were unlike your first two, but that nevertheless you are grateful for a healthy baby. Congratulations, mama!

  • Congrats! Just had an ultrasound yesterday, and she's estimated to weigh 7lbs 2oz already! I can't wait for D Day... I'm going natural by choice, so I'm hoping for no pitocin. Best wishes!
  • Congrats! She's beautiful!
  • Congrats!

I had the same thing happen last time - water broke, contractions were slow, needed Pitocin, epidural wouldn't work. High fives for making it through that pain, it is no joke!

  • Congratulations!!!! That's so exciting!! Did you have any signs that you'll deliver? I'm almost 38 weeks and desperate to go lol
  • Congrats mama =) That's almost exactly what happened with my first baby. Water broke in a trickle but the contractions stubbornly weren't picking up, so the next morning they started pitocin and boy did that get things moving! Fortunately though for me the epi took - I was going nuts by that point!

Thank you! :) as far as signs I was close I noticed in the days before my water broke I was moving super slow because I was out of breath and generally just sore and tender( ligaments and pelvic area) just walking across the room was a task. Forgive me for this analogy but it's the closest thing I can compare it too, my pelvic area( vagina) felt like someone punched me real hard down there and it ached if I walked or stood too long. I had been having very mild period like cramps off and on as well as amped up Braxton hicks(seemed like I got these every time I even moved) everyone will experience it differently but the one thing that seems to stick out to me is the nesting urge. Literally the day before my water broke I was doing yard work because I felt like I "had" to lol ;)
This is my 3rd girl and the nesting urge was the one similarity between them all. I experienced this urge anywhere from one week to a couple days before I actually went into labor.
Your experience will be unique into you ;) I hope all the best for you. Savor it!! :)

Thank you! :) your right it's def no joke!! Lol it comes on harder, faster and stronger than labor without the help of Pitocin. I'm actually kinda glad I got to experience it because this is my last baby and had tossed around the thought of delivering without an epi this time. I chickened out of coarse but since the epi didn't take I got go experience full on labor anyway. Just wish it could have been without the pitocin.
