I have actually never heard of these before I googled "why the heck do I wake up sweating everytime I need to nurse". Not just a little I'm talking sheets damp hairline wet... Gross. And I'm taking fenugreek so it faintly smells like maple syrup. Lol

Anyone else sweating like a pig? When will it end?!

Re: Postpardom night sweats.

  • This happened to me too! My little one is now 4 weeks old and it has subsided, I don't know when exactly, but yes it's crazy! (And normal I think!)
    Hang in there :)

  • Yes, super normal. Your body is shedding the excess water and fluids from pregnancy ... with my first pregnancy I had bad bad night sweats .. This second time around I've had some but mostly I've had to pee like CRAZY. Like... I wake up in the middle of the night even when my baby isn't awake and have to go. Pisses me off lol. Doctor said its just another way the body is purging .. Joy.
  • Ha ha and here was me thinking it was just the weather changing. Makes more sense if it's pregnancy related, it's definitely not THAT warm yet!
  • Yes! I sleep in just a nursing bra and pants and I end up soaking the sheets. Then, after nursing, I end up freezing and return to bed and need to snuggle up to my DH to get warm again. Only to begin the cycle over. Cannot wait until this ends!
  • Lol Yess! It's really nasty lol. Between the c section scar healing.. My super sensitive and squishy belly.. Bleeding for weeks now.. And now the drenching night sweats. Yeesh. I was so excited to finally not be pregnant after the months of nausea and all those wonderful symptoms.. It just continues.

Thank god I got a super cute little cuddle buddy out of it ❤️
  • Wow I thought it was just me!!
  • Mine started at 1.5 weeks postpartum. It's really gross and annoying. I have to grab a towel or napkin and clean myself up before I nurse.

  • Same here, feel so disgusting by morning! No idea where the fluids are even coming from since I feel so dehydrated from nursing!
  • So glad I'm not alone in this! I have felt so disgusting and have felt like I'm wringing my hair out every time I get up to nurse! I can't stand it! Anyone know when this goes away?
  • Phew...glad im not the only one!
  • According to google it usually lasts 2 to 4 weeks and possibly longer in moms that are breast feeding
  • Same here! My baby is 6 weeks and my night sweats ended a week or two ago. It will end!
  • So glad I'm not alone. Guess it's time to wait it out...
  • I had night sweats really bad. I use to think my breasts were leaking or something until I figured out I was sweating. My daughter is 5 weeks and the sweats stopped about a week ago.
  • So glad to read im not the only one! Our son will be 5 weeks on Thursday so hopefully it goes away soon!
  • I thought it was my blanket that kept me too warm at night! Lol well if that along with breastfeeding is what got me back to my pre preggo weight then I don't mind night sweats at all! ;)
  • I've hit four weeks out and I can tell a huge difference in the night sweats. They still happen but thankfully not as frequent!
  • My OB said it's from the hormones... My son is almost 6 weeks and it's still happening. I always sweat between 2 and 3 am and wake up completely drenched (neck, hair, down my boobs and around the entire collar of my shirt). I cannot wait for it to be over!
