Sharp one sided pains

I'm 39+2 and I've been having on and off contractions all day. Didn't think anything of them because there's no pattern. Now I'm having a super sharp pain just on the left side of my lower abdomen and it comes and goes but stays for 2ish minutes at a time. I have a dr appt tomorrow but anyone have any experience with that kind of pain? I've never had a menstrual cramp and had BH all of this pregnancy + a high pain tolerance so I'm struggling to know what is real and what is nothing to worry about.

    It sounds like round ligament or nerve pain from baby moving lower. I have been dealing with it the entire third trimester. You can apply heat to the area for a short time and try supporting the side where it hurts (with pillows or a wrap)

    I had those side pains and have still had them on and off but no contractions. I told my doctor about them last week at our appointment and she said it was probably by cervix thinning and the baby moving further down.

    It sounds like round ligament pain. I've had it all late second and third tri on my right side mostly. It's the worst! I hope you get some relief soon. For me, it feels like stabbing pains, or Charlie horses in your abdomen. You can't hurt anything by asking the dr or nurse over the phone about it though. Just call. They're used to these questions.
