i didn't fall, a heavy object fell on my belly .

I was sound asleep and was awoken by my 19lb cat jumping down from 4 ft above me straight down onto my top belly sternum area i imagine with his momentum of pressure thst even added pounds to the hit...as if my rib cage didn't have a constant ache already (anyone else btw? )now I'm in quite a bit of pain. ..wondering if I should call dr asap or wait til my next apt in a week... Meow! !!

When I fell on the pavement in the snow, I called the doctor and they had me go to the labor and deliver - which totally freaked me out; but, they checked everything and the baby was fine. Because I am RH-, I did get my Rogham* shot early as a precaution. On the phone they asked me (when I called immediately after it happened) if I had any spotting or felt any baby movement. I'd had neither, good on one end / not the other. Call and ask, it never hurts to ask.

I agree. Call. Tell them exactly what you told us, your almost 20 pound cat jumped on your stomach from a large height and now you are in "quite a bit of pain". I should think they will want to check you, but even if you do have to go in and burn a couple hours in l&d - better safe than sorry, and your mind will be at peace that you have done everything you could

It definitely wouldn't hurt to call, however I'm more of "give it a few and assess the situation" type person. Both my cats have taken flying leaps onto my tummy at night, so definitely been there. If you're not having any bleeding or cramping, and you're feeling the baby like normal, you should be fine. But again, it never hurts to call the doc and get their opinion, either. Especially if it affords you peace of mind.
