Re: wow lady grooming getting tough!

  • LoL...i dont like any hair 'down there' and Nair (or any hair removal cream) works best for me in the later stages. It goes on and off very easily and quickly, and you dont have to be reaching and stretching and bending too long. :)
  • Loading the player...
  • @nsaid4u I didn't think about that ...is it safe during pregnancy? I can't stand hair either ...I told DH about my predicament he said he'd volunteer to help lolzz but he got no patience lol

  • I've never used Nair because of the smell it bothered me b4 preg I wonder now ?! I wonder if there are any other alternatives ...@shelbycase9 Its great to not have to DH has never complained but its more of a me thing !

  • @MelMel92. & @amberrmariee20 it doesnt burn. If it burns, you are leaving it on too long. 5 minutes max is good. Leaves you soft and smooth and you dont need to re-apply for weeks. I love it.
  • Who knew being pregnant would cause so many issues haha. My husband has also offered to "help out" in certain areas, but refuses to help with my legs. Men...and their hormones/desires.....haha

My skin must be way more sensitive than yours :( Starts burning for me after less than a minute. Glad it works for you though! ^^

  • @gabrielaferreras i dont see why it wouldnt be safe. I have to use it, cant to in for delivery looking like an amazon down there. :)
  • Nair also burns me sometimes. If left too long can cause chemical burns. I haven't used since getting pregnant just because I don't like the smell.
  • Oh my...sorry for the burning ladies. Sounds painful! :(
  • Just awkward. I had to stop using it for 6 months a couple years ago because if I used it too often it didn't matter how long I left it on my legs it still burned. I have sensitive skin though too so that was probably part of the issue.

Cant stand the smell of Nair. I got Veet. It's similar to Nair but goes on like a shaving cream, smells a lot better and it is supposed to be more gentle for sensitive skin. I haven't tried it there but it says it can be used on the bikini area.

  • Some things r better kept from my husband, wouldn't want him grooming that area! Might go get a wax when I can't do it myself anymore!
  • I manage a spa, so I just get everything waxed. It is painful the first couple of times but the more you go the less hair grows back so it's faster and easier each time. I would for sure suggest finding an esthetican very experienced with hard wax and brazillians/bikini that can do it in 15 mins or less. It's totally worth it! If you do have to shave, make sure that you are exfoliating really well and/or using an ingrown hair or razor bump serum of some soft.
I wonder what an OB would prefer (hair, no hair) for delivery or if it matters?

I'm gonna second Veet. But really my main reply is that none of that grooming stuff matters. This is a short time in our lives that we are not going to be able to do lots of stuff, whether that's because of our grooming preferences or because of safety reasons, or because we're tired, or whatever. You blink, and suddenly you have a newborn, and then it really won't matter. Life gets real, real quick. Sorry guys, guess I'm philosophical this morning! ;)
  • I had all my ladybits lasered. Now I just do maintenance grooming for the few strays

  • My poor friend just had her baby on April 2, and decided she would nair a couple days prior and it in her words "destroyed her vagina." She said it was so painful. Grooming isn't difficult yet for me, as I don't have a bump at all yet but when it does become tough I'll hit up a salon.
@CaitLewis15 I'm jealous! I'm so hairy!!!! And it's black and thick. I actually planned on getting lasered this year on my bikini line and legs. Guess that will have to wait for 2016.
  • I teach swimming lessons in the afternoons so NOT grooming is NOT an option.... I am still able to do it myself currently but I'm going to try Veet. I HATE the smell of Nair and it burns me also....
    Good Luck everyone!
  • I just trim and shave the bikini line, but I'm noticing that with my nails and hair on my head growing thicker and faster, my hair down there is doing the same thing! I'm having to do so much more grooming than I used to!
  • Not trying to cause mass hysteria/panic but one of my doctor's pamphlets mentioned these hair removal creams.  The jury is out on whether or not they are safe on your nether regions during pregnancy.  I figure I'd rather not risk it.  I just go for waxes :)  I have sensitive skin too and I highly recommend paying the extra money for "hard" wax.  Way better for sensitive skinned people!

I have super sensitive skin, almost everything breaks me out ! I also had echezma and I'm so nervous to try anything new !
  • Make the hubby's/boyfriends/partners help out! They have been super close down there before.. It's not mystery to them. Mine helped with my last pregnancy and he sure will be this one! Lol

HAH, my DH is clumsy, no way hes holding a razor to my skin :P Im sure he would do his best, but hes such a clutz!

Will have to look into waxing, even though thats really out of my comfort zone..

  • I would never ask my husband to shave me down there lol

  • Hubby helped me out with last pregnancy and did a great job lol .
  • I used Nair down there once and I was super sensitive to it! It buuuurned and so I hopped in the tub and it made it worse! Forget that!
  • I lost the ability to see what I was shaving down there (everything, but I like to be thorough) when I was pregnant with DS. Two years of not being able to see, and I'm pretty good at doing it blind.

  • I'm going to try to wax again I stopped since getting pregnant. I was worried it would hurt more. I have to say I had hard wax done twice and that was the most painful experience ever. I almost quit half way through and I've waxed for over 10 years!
  • Waxing is great! I've done it tons of times and really recommend the hard wax. I was skeptical at first too but then I got addicted! Lol only down side is you do hAve to get some growth before getting it waxed so did you like an always super clean lady area then waxing may not be for you. As for comfort zone, it is more intimate than a gyno visit lol...a lot of uh, folds, being pushed around haha.

  • I heard waxing can be more painful while pregnant. Is that true for the waxers out there? I went regularly before the BFP now I'm nervous lol
  • Lolzz I'm too shy to get waxed ! I did it b4 I met DH I was wayyyy young and it was kinda weird I don't think I'd feel to confty now specially since the place that I'd go to where I do all my beauty stuff is a neighborhood favorite :\">
